What we have here is not a replica, but a seller who has lost his marbles. The car pictured was never sold as a replica. The kit that is installed on it was never sold as a replica. No mention of the F40/F50 was ever made in reference to the design of the kit installed on the car pictured. Thus, not exactly fir to call it out as a poor replica.

Kind of like me showing a picture of my Timex digital and calling it a Rolex Replica, then having someone point out it is a lousy replica.

Krell, from "The Forbidden Planet" classic SciFi movie... hands down the best from the 50's.

Aside, I went to a local performance of Willie Shakespeare's "The Tempest" last year.

All of a sudden, I thought... "Wait, I've seen this before, but with a spaceship."

"Forbidden Planet" is almost exactly lifted from "The Tempest"... same characters, situations, plot, exactly the same.

    From Wiki:

Forbidden Planet is one of the most attractive movies in the genre. Some of the more interesting resonances of Forbidden Planet stem from its being an updated version of Shakespeare's The Tempest (circa 1611). Prospero is Morbius, an obsessive scientist living alone with his daughter Altaira (the virginal Miranda figure) on the planet Altair IV. Ariel is a charming metal creature, Robby the Robot (who became so popular - the first robot star since Metropolis - that another film, The Invisible Boy [1957], was made as a special vehicle for him). The film opens with a spaceship landing to investigate the fate of a colony whose sole survivors are Morbius and Altaira. The crew is menaced by an invisible Caliban, which proves to be a "Monster from the Id" and eventually destroys its unwitting creator, Morbius; holocaust follows. Altaira is saved.

Woweee! Saaaaaweeeet! I bet the "COSTUME SQUARE TUBE V8 FRAME" is stiff as hell. Had a 455 Buick V8 in it? I just don't know what to think. Other than I think I want it.

That's what I hate so much about many replicas: It was a pretty cool car (though not, of course, a Ferrari) before it was molested. Then it was nothing but a. . . crappy replica.

I mean, dude, come on: You've got a Corvette! Enjoy it for what it is. You're not fooling anyone, your car looks like ***** now, so why did you do it?

Oh, right. Those kit builders want a similar driving experience.

Maybe it's OK if you just start with a Fiero?

The whole point is defeated since the Miata is front-engined. Not that Fieros "re-create the driving experience any better."

I don't really care if someone makes his Miata resemble a Dino, somewhat. . . But the Ferrari badges are offensive. It's the difference between saying, "I modified my Miata to look kind of like a Dino," and "Look at me! I have a Ferrari!"

it's got to be real, though...I could see a minimum of nine Ferrari logos in various places in the interior, you can't just do that for any other car hahahaha...
