Wrong thread: This is about replicas not cars with the wrong stickers. :)

I came across a Fiat in Europe that had a bunch of Ferrari emblems on it. Such "efforts" don't even deserve the replica name.

I wonder what that kit costs: 288 GTO replica mirrors by themselves cost about a grand alone. Might be cheaper to get the Fiero kit for the 308 conversion.

IIRC, the mirrors are from some old subaru and they're shorter than real ones...the kit itself was halted by Ferrari when it was released in 1986 until Alden Thomas modified it enough such that it didn't resemble the 288 anymore. This is one of the, supposedly, five of the pre-modified kits before Ferrari pulled the plug. A guy is trying to sell it for $9,000.

Ah, ok, didn't know that. From this angle the mirrors look wrong, but I would be proud to have that front mounted on my 308. That looks spot on (except for the turn signals, but I got those covered :) ).

To all those who talk a bunch of crap about replicas you suck. All cars are replicas. How it works is that they design one car and then copy it over and over again. To the guy in New Zeland that built an f40 replica..Ive seen the car in person and it was sweet. I have seen replicas of all kinds from gt40s to f40s. I have set and driving in both. I had more fun in the replica cause I built it. I got a lot of respect from others cause I built it. The nice thing is that you get to build it. I have some say build your own design..Some day I will but right now I like the gt40 and f40 replicas that Im building and when Im done they will rival the f40's and gt40. They might even run and drive better as well. peace out..keep building

Thats what I have been saying for a while now. All cars are replica's from a conceptcar of somekind. Even "real" automakers have riped a page from replicating cars by using a Donorcar. Look at GM they are using the same platform on the XLR and the C6, Sky and Solistiac and there SUV's are all built on the same chassis and all share the same engine's the only serious diffrance is whats on the outside. There's no such thing as the orginal because then everybody will have a diffrent car now the real deal is more like it.

Replica's and kits are fun to build no doubt but the realitie is they will never defeat the orginal. Without the design of the orginal, you wouldn't have anything to replicate in the first place. Someday ill build a REPLICA that could easly rival the orginal but I have plans to buy the orginal because I want to then evenually farm out and build my own supercar.

The car looks Asian, the way the headlights are squinting..... Nothing against Asian people..... just an observation.

www.thelamboshop.com builds Countach replicas. Somebody showed me this website today. Is this a joke?? Do they think they are IMPROVING on the original Countach design?? (last statement in #1) Each of the following quotes are from the website and go with each of the posted pictures in the same order. I especially like the paint colors!

    1) "On the front of the car, we have eliminated pop up headlights for many reasons. To name a few, they are noisy, they always break, they never line up properly and they just don't look right on an aerodynamic car. Notice that the windshield wiper is one arm that sweeps the water from the drivers side to the passengers. One of many things improperly designed on the original Countach that we corrected."

    2) "Everything on the rear of the car looks very clean... it is a very sharp set up. One thing that is especially cool is the aluminum trunk pan cover."

    3) "It's all in the details. That's what makes a quality product stand out from the rest. We pay close attention and make precise adjustments to details that make your car stand out from all the others. Things like the doors opening evenly. Proper spacing on both sides of the tires. When looking behind the car everything is exact. Other builders will not pay attention or be as meticulous to details that make or break the impression your car has on everyone looking at you with their mouths hanging open! You won't see any close-up shots of their cars. It's the "little things"... the details that although may go unnoticed, make all the difference between a "nice car" and an "AWESOME RIDE"."

I'm not against replicas or anything. I have a lot of respect for the amount of work and the amount of time/dedication it takes to finish one. However, I feel that if you are going to build one.............take the time to make it look believable and more exact! Otherwise, why bother!!

That was one of the first countach replica's released to the market. The company wanted 70k for it when you bought it back in the 80's.

The Door orginally opened like a typical car when it was first built because you could use the 86vette door hinges on them. Someone used the "LamboDoor" kit on that one.

    How sad.

The Lambo shop is nothing more than how to rice out your lambo!.

I like the interior but it should have been ideal for anyone with an orginal countach who couldn't fit properly in it and wanted an aftermarket interior done to it then yeah I could see the purpose of it.

The kit should have been based on an MR-2, not a Fiero if they where going the Import road because it would have been cheaper, would have made more since and there wouldn't have been a need for a V-8 swap.

The Colors are decent but seriously they aren't better than the orginal. Why would I want to use the same color on my countach that id use on a Corvette?.

The body design is terrible, it looks like a non stretched Fiero based on countach right? wrong its not!. The idiot who came out with the design thought it was a "Great Idea" to make it shortwheel based so that it would be easer to control the vehicle at track meets. The realitly is the car was worst off when they tested it against a stock Fiero GT and the replica had a V-8 brand new, aftermarket suspention and brakes and it couldn't out perform a standard Fiero.

In a straight line it was more than capable of beating a ZR-1, it would run mid 12's all day long says mike from Lambo shop.

There customer service from what I have heard its awfull, they acually scam people out of there money to buy kits. They offered a Diablo and Murcielago a couple of years ago right but the pictures where pirated from Lambocars.com as well as D&R replicars. I guess someone hired lawyers to have them remove it.

Now they have plans for the replacement of there countach which is gonna be a Gallardo replica. I can't wait to see how that turns out.lol.
