Scoobies are tough cars if not the safest, it could have been a lot worse if it wasn't on a road course.

No, sir, they did not continue, unfortunately. We saw them southbound in South Carolina and did not see them at the final One Lap event.

    really?

It looked to me like he got too much air & lost control.

I went up to VIR on May 4th to help my friend Jon that ran the Evo VIII with 700hp for the One Lap America race (Same class as the Rota STI - Mid Class Sedan) and everyone was talking about the crash. The Rota STI was good competition too from what Jon was telling me about.
I remember someone saying a Corvette Blew up early in the One Lap America event but dunno which one.
I think the STI busted the radiator pretty bad and could not continue from what Brock James said(Car and Driver Journalist - I think).

He did get air, but he was on the wrong line. The correct line through the corner worked just fine for everybody else, including faster cars.

It was a supercharged C5 that left early.

    Brock Yates.

If you look at the photos Adee, DaVia, et al, are all using a different line. The Subaru is simply pointed in the wrong direction at the crest of the hill.

It's a good thing the driver was OK, it was a pretty wild crash.
