Yes, it does work. The vid is of a car crashing into a toll booth on the Garden State Pkwy, and literally exploding. Cops then arrive very soon afterward.
what a stupid comment. there is always a cop sitting there at the toll in case someone tries to run the toll without paying.
Can't say I agree with you that it is a stupid comment. I believe lethal force should be used immediately if circumstances exist (i.e. bank robber, car jack, felony act) whereby someone evades and uses their vehicle as a weapon by committing additional felony offences that places the public in imminent danger, police should shoot to kill. A car can be a weapon. If it was an idiot with a gun running through the streets you don't throw stop sticks. just my 2 cents....
my 2 cents too... What if he was unconscious or dead already before the crash? Did he deserved to kill himself or to be killed?
Wow, easy with the assumptions there guys. No-one knows what happened, and the cop wasn't chasing the guy. It appears he had a seizure, probably knocking him out with his foot on the gas. It's sad to be honest. I'm even more shocked at the cars that kept driving through. Anyone know what went flying from the car? I thought it was a body at first, but it seems not.
Did you notice that the force of the impact changed the sign on top from exact change to ez-pass. Drove threw there this weekend didn't see anything at all. Was that a Charger police car, the cop in it was not in a hurry at all.
I was bothered by that too. I know there was little that could be done, but still, if someone dies right in front of you, it's a good idea to stop.
Yes your right but I'm referring to the criminal that may take your family or mine away by "lethal" means and the fact that police officers should shoot to kill once the chase becomes a felony chase. I, John Q Taxper don't want anyone's loved-ones to be killed at the next intersection because the perp was inlieu of utilizing a gun rather a vehicle of imminent danger.
This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by New Jersey Turnpike Authority Dang, I missed it.
Actually, I didn't until this post. I sincerely apologize for my previous comment. Based on the link Gblogger supplied it was terribly insensitive and wrong. I made a snap judgement about what I saw in the video and nothing else. My sympathies go out to the gentlemans family and I do feel really badly about what I said. In the last few years we have had a few people suing the police for pursuits in which the perp was injured or killed because they did not pull over. Including, a guy on a motorcyle that missed a turn and died because he did not look behind him to see that the police had called off the chase a few miles earlier. I firmly believe that a speeding ticket or even a felony conviction is not worth dying over so just pull over. If you don't you should be dealt with HARSHLY. That was the reason for my comment. Again, I really do feel terrible and I hope you all can accept my apology. Even still regardless of the circumstances I would not have just rolled through the booth like the SUV. That is just flat wrong.
"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by New Jersey Turnpike Authority." WTF. Since when the NJ Turnpike authority care about copyrights?
