I've recently started to notice a creaking sort of noise from the front end of my '99 456M GT. It's not a suspension creak because it doesn't happen over bumps, it hapens when I break, but only noticeable at low speeds, or if I turn the car at low speeds (< 5mph). It appears to go away at > 20mph. (or simply cannot be heard any more). Cheers, looks like it could be one of many things. I'll give my mechanic a ring as I don't want to brake down in France next week!
