I think I’ve read every topic on here covering stereo and speaker changes and can’t find much on wiring of the speakers and crossover installation.

As I understand, stock wiring runs from HU to tweeter locations and then on to woofers in the doors. The tweeters have inline capacitor filters so no stock crossovers.

Stock woofers are torn so I’ve replaced with Infinity Reference 6530CX and at the moment haven’t installed the supplied tweeters. Source is a Blaupunkt SQ46 with power from a Pioneer GM-D1004.

My question is about how best to wire the tweeters and where to lose the crossovers. Is there a splice at the stock location to allow signal to split between tweeters and on to woofers? Can the crossovers therefore be mounted somewhere behind the dash to use existing wiring?

Any help would be appreciated if it prevents having to run new wires.

    thanks

    Will
