Can you please take another photo of the piston, from the side so we can see the length of the skirt and the position of the gudgeon pin. Thanks

Bought the same two pieces a couple weeks ago. Mine turned out to be four valves and then one piston, both from the 2003 car.

Very cool. There's an F2001 engine at the Ferrari dealer on Park Avenue. Not sure if the valves are still in it. There were around six chassis made of the F2001 car (#208-#213), so maybe around 5-10 Type 050 engines were made, with 40 valves each.

Ditto, mine were valves from the 2002, piston from the 2003. Like the watches from the Ferrari Store where they issue big discount codes a few times a month, I got an email from the Ferrari Store with a 80% discount code on these. I wouldn't have paid $1,000 for a piston, but for $200 I couldn't resist! The piston especially is a fabulous item.

The F1 parts, that Ferraristore sell, they are not been never mounted in a official Grand prix Ferrari Formula 1.

They come from test bench engines............. That, said to me a Scuderia Ferrari Mechanic.

Does the documentation state specifically which engine the parts came from?

As far as I know, the teams are limited in how many engines they can make in a year for the race program, including bench test engines. Could be wrong though.

the documentation doesn't state in which engine the parts came from the certificate of origin which comes with the purchase only certifies the originality and characteristics of the parts in which were used on the formula 1 championship of 2001 and 2003 respectively

No doubt of authenticity. Are real parts o F1 engine. But, The Scuderia Ferrari mechanic said to me that. No pieces of a Grand Prix F1 car, it goes out of "Reparto Corse". He works on SF from many years. Even, parts like very old wheel nuts.

He does not Know wherefrom the parts come. He thinks come from tes bench engine or something like that. In any case, you have a great collection parts and authentic. Ferrari certifies this.

We must remember they make many more engines than they have chassis for spares ...
