Hi All I have read through the workshop manual and tried searching the internet and come up empty handed. I'm sure it is out there but probably missed it. Can someone help me with the torque specification for the crown wheel to diff carrier bolts. They are M10x1mm 12.9 with captive serrated washes (which from my experience of the diffs I have built on other brands of cars is unusual). Can someone point me in the direction of the correct document or specification for these bolts. My car is a manual transmission 1981 400i. Thank you in advance.
For future reference I received the following reply from Jonas on another network: Hi! The diff has in my understanding been the same since the 365, only different gear ratio when used in 400 auto vs manual. With that said, you can whiteout me taking responsibility most likely use the workshop manual from the 365, where it says 85Nm. Attached is photos from relevant pages in the 365 manual.
