I wish to let everyone know that the glass crystals for the clocks (with the notch) and the glass crystals for the other gauges (no notch) are now available at Unobtainium Supply.
Verell has both in stock available for shipment. Any outstanding orders from me will be filled by me but from now on all orders should go through him. Thank you all that purchased from me it was a lot of fun actually providing this little thing for our enjoyment.

Just click on my name by this post and select [send eMAIL to Verell].
Make sure that Ferrari Chat has your correct eMAIL so you will receive my reply.

I just received my 1st shipment of crystals, but have not had a chance to notch them.

Also I'm in the middle of resolving what I believe to be an over-charge with my supplier. I can't set a price until it is resolved.

I have spoken with Ricambi about the lenses and they will also be carrying them. You will find them in the web site's Unobtainium Supply section. :)

I should be ready to ship in a week or so.

I wish to thank Crowndog for the opportunity to add the instrument crystals to Unobtainium's product line.

BTW, you can follow progress on Facebook - just 'like' Unobtainium Supply Co.

I have the crystals and orders for them. However, my 1st customer informed me that I made the notch too narrow & too deep. Unfortunately, I believe I made it exactly like the one I got from crowndog as a pattern. Also, I do not have a clock I can get measurments off of.

Could someone help by measuring their clock stem's diameter and the distance between the edge of the stem furtherest away from the crystal's edge? (ie: the depth I need to cut the notch to)?

Or could someone loan me one of the plastic crystals & I can measure it myself.

46.86mm width I believe. Once you scale the photo to the correct width...you can get your locations and measurements from the scan. This is my original plexi from my 82.

    Hi Verell,

I just measured the crystal of my '85QV clock with my digital caliper. The stem's diameter a 1.98mm me and the furthest part is 5.5mm from the edge. I hope this helps.

With John's picture & Jan's dimensions I should be all set!!!
Next week I'm going to make up a check tool to verify width & depth then resume production.

I have a couple clocks. They are different as CrownDog & I found out.
To "adjust" the notch, a diamond cutting disc for a dremmel ($20 at Lowes) works wonders.

I have a couple of requests for speedometer & tachometer crystals. Does anyone have the dimensions (diameter & thickness)?

I believe the two are the same dimension. I don't think you will be able to get that diameter from your current supplier. If I remember 82 or 85mm was max unless things changed.. No reason plate glass couldn't be used but it won't be surface hardened like the other crystals.
