Well,I have been driving through Lombard the past few Saturday Nights to see if the Cruise Nights have started there yet. They haven't.

But,today,I heard on the Radio,(The Loop-97.9 WLUP) That "Cool Cars under the Stars" was starting Tonite in Elmhurst. It is held every Wed. Nite. I cruised through around 7:00PM-ish....PACKED!!! Lots of Everything...but,Italian Exotica...

So,tomorrow,I am going out to look for the Motorsport News Mag./Paper,and see what, when and where the Cruise Nites will be,and post here for all.

I was the only Ferrari, and heard alot of "LOOK! A FERRARI!!!!" and Fingers pointed...(Forward...not up....:) ) So,we gotta get together for some of these...but,to find a spot to park,MUST get there by 5:00PM-ish...

Like I said.I'll post Cruise nites when I get the info. But,if they are the same as the Last few years...Wed. Nite-Elmhurst. Thurs.Nite-Westmont. Fri.Nite-Downers Grove. Sat. Nite-Lombard.

    Rolling Meadows has started also.

Still, I fail to see the the big deal in bringing an F-car to these events. Is it for the '''WOW''' factor, and the recognition we might get?

Most cruise nites are dedicated to hot-rods & muscle cars; not exotics and luxury cars, as I found out when I brought my 'Roller' to a Saturday nite show!

I enjoy going to these shows and seeing the modifieds; but do Ferraris really fit in?

Call me old and crotchety but, I don't get it!!!!

OK, I'm going to have a glass of warm milk and go to bed, so forget that I said anything. :)

Isn't this the point of a car show? The name of the event is "Cool cars under the stars". So what's the difference if I point and say "Hey look, a Hemi !!!" or "Hey look, a Ferrari !!!" They're both cool cars to me. Maybe I should bring my LS400 so people go "Hey look, a boring bland luxury sedan !!!" Last time I checked, car shows are about people hanging out talking about their common interests.

Might be working on a tan instead of being there or square. Will there be a meeting place if you all go?

Well,It looks like Downers Grove Cruise nights have started, too. I was able to make a pass through before the Rain started. Mostly HotRods and Old cars. But,some newer Cars like 'Vettes,Vipers, and T-Birds. (Even an AMC Pacer!)

Got alot of "WOW!!! A FERRARI!!!!" again...............Skip....:)

Guess the public likes 'em! :)

I will check Lombard tommorrow nite,if it's not Raining. But,I bet that they will start up tomm. also.

Don't forget to add Bugatti tags...

I bought my Hummer so that I could run over curbs looking for my meeting building while lost on business calls, so that if a second Ice Age came along I wouldnt have to worry about roads, and that my god-daughter would like to be a passenger when I decided to ford some rivers for some dumb reason. It was for as much fun and oddball use as praticality, ( yeah I knew about mpg but when you are in Duluth, Minn being shown an extruder machine in the middle of winter at 20- below and 3 feet of snow, you don't care about gas mileage only if your car can get from town to town. )

I like to be seen in an H2 and like it for its tough use.

The former Fcar was for a sense of class and a self imposed status symbol for my arrival in business though I would never, I mean never bring it or even acknowledge I owned one to clients and co-workers. Now that was odd: buying a Ferrari off your Father only to hide it in your apartment. Kind of wished I could be in you two guys' shoes and at a point in life where I could say, " Yep, worked really hard, raised some good kids, now can enjoy myself. " I got 40 years of hard work ahead of me and having to worry about impressions!

But,if things ever get out of hand,I may have to call my Buddy "Steve Wilkos", Head of Security on the Jerry Springer Show,to Iron things out......:)

The witty replies are a result of too much experimentation as a Youth....:)One too many trips down Lake. Shore. Drive. ....:)

Yes,I'll be going, too. Wed.nights are my "Visitation Nights" with Frankie, and he lives with Mrs. EX :( out in St. Charles. So,that will work out perfect. But,maybe we should meet somewhere close by and try to arrive together so that we can all park together. The "Cruise Night" starts at 6:30. What time can we start parking? It's right on North Av.,West of the Fox River, and East of Randall Rd. Or,we can all plan to show up there at the same time, but, from what I've seen so far at some of the Cruise nites that have started already...EARLIER is Better.....

Elmhurst is also on Wed.nite. It was Super Packed last week. I also cruised through Downers Grove last Friday nite before the Downpour. There were actually open parking spaces, but, that could be due to the extremely scary looking Sky that nite, and, that not everyone knew that it started up yet...
