Crystal Cove Memorial for Ben & Corey

I will bring the cameras.

Im also going to make a memorial video, Ben was the most supportive of my car show videos.

 

Ryans collection had Ben at the centerpiece always.......almost a documentary, Im sure his son will find those shots and movies invaluable.....

Can someone cone off an empty space in the CC lot (and possibly clear it with the RaCs)? It seems fitting for us to have a space reserved for him....

 

Looks like no one wants to attend with me, anyone going from the SD area and possibly want's to carpool?

 

I like the idea, people also can lay flowers on this spot.

 

Who is actually planning the Memorial? I always get to CC at 6:15...way early enough to save and set up a space for Ben and Corey. If someone will put me in contact with the people organizing this I would be more than happy to help out!

Ill tell you guys what...Its getting late and for all of us to be able to drive safely we should be thinking about getting to bed soon. I am sorry I have not been on the comp. this afternoon; I was with Ben’s wife helping, talking, running errands… I have a couple things to share with everyone. First Charlotte would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and words during this time. She appreciates the outpour of help and support from everyone. She and Parker are doing well and we finally convinced Charlotte to get some sleep. She has received tons of flowers, so she has asked for people not to send flowers anymore.
Second, many people have been asking about a memorial fund or something. I discussed this with Charlotte. She would like to take a collection and donate the money to an orphanage in Mexico in Ben’s name. This is what Ben would have wanted. Just another tribute to what a great guy Ben was. As some of you know Ben played soccer with a bunch of us. Ben was always gracious enough to pay for the entire team every season. He only asked that we donate money to this charity or one of our choice. He was such an awesome guy and the world will miss him. Charlotte and I are working out the details of how to collect money. I will post something in the next couple of days with details.
Third: The location of the memorial service is confirmed:

El Camino Memorial Park
5600 Carroll Canyon Rd.
San Diego CA 92121

The date and time have not been confirmed but the family is aiming to have it on Wednesday sometime. The plans will be solidified this Sunday and I will post the exact details as soon as I know them.

Fourth: I plan on coming to CC tomorrow with two of Ben’s other really good friends. We will be passing out cards for everyone to sign so I can take them back to Charlotte the same day.

Hey Justin call me in the morning if you want to caravan or somthing. Do you need a ride or somthing? Im able to go with my parents and can take 2 cars if someone else needs a ride up and back.

im new to the board.. actually i just found this board through bimmerfest.com.

anyways, my intention today was to do some market research on the ferrari market for carbon fiber parts, however I came across this thread and I've also heard about the tragedy on numerous forums..

I dont usually go to these saturday meets being that theyre so early in the morning, but on behalf of element 6 designs, I think we can contribute a custom carbon fiber plaque for the two families.

Let me know if this would be of interest.

I just got back.

Pete, Anthony, Dave, Thomas, and whoever else helped put the memorial together; what you guys did today was truly touching and heart warming. Ben was lucky to have such loving friends and we were all lucky to have Ben as our friend.

The aura of love and respect for Ben was greatly felt this morning.

-Pete, your so caring, thanks for taking the time to record the messages and gathering among other things.

Anthony, I know it didnt look like I enjoyed going in your car with you but beleive me, it made all the difference. it just wouldnt have been the same if I went with somebody that didnt know Ben like you. After talking with you I felt a little more at peace.

Dave, you were an integral part of todays experience, thank you so much.

Thomas, your voice was heard loud and clear and we apreciate your leader ship in todays gathering.

Your hearts are made of gold.

You are all class acts, Ben has a great group of friends who truly care.

Today seeing and talking to people about Ben gave me a little more piece of mind.

I only meet Ben a few times but, from those meetings I could tell right away he was a great, caring, and generous man.

Thanks to Dave, Anthony, Thomas, and Pete for sharing your stories about Ben I feel it gave me a deeper look into his personality.

You guys are truly amazing friends, we should all be so lucky. If there are anymore stickers I would like to receive one to put on my RX7.
