It's rolled up strictly for shipping. Keeping it rolled up for an extended time, does put some stress on the layers of material and in time they will separate. Ciao Brenden
The OEM Stripe from the factory is strictly for repairers. It's an extremely thin material, totally dull with no gloss or shine and no high gloss clear laminate. It can only be used under the clear lacquer. It's not exactly cheap either. However, if you were prepared to strip off the clear and respray, you could have an original?? Stripe. Ciao Brenden
Hi Brenden, Can you lay down the factory ordered stripe and put clear bra over it ? You mentioned it is extremely thin, so I'm thinking the air gap etc. may be reduced. Thanks
Technically I suppose you could, but what would you do for the Roof and the Engine Lid? Last time I checked, it was about $1,100.00 for the factory repairer kit. Ciao Brenden
is a stripe-less CS even considered a CS? ok i'm just kidding .....but if the aftermarket stripe can be removed at any point later, it hurts no value...... i have seen one which was not covered with a clear coat.....maybe due to our weather here, it has started to fade very badly......
I have a no stripe and a factory stripe. I eschew aftermarket stripes. If done just for your personal enjoyment, so be it. I've yet to see a Ferrari afficiando who hasn't run their finger over the stripe to see if it is factory. It's just a thing we seem to do. I'd prefer no stripe if not factory installed.
Looks fantastic. Silver w stripe...very cool. If I ever get another CS that would be near the top of my list.
