I have Black and want OEM Ferrari Yellow, can my dealer repaint them and can I keep the Ferrari logo or do I have to p/x them instead, has anybody done this with any idea of the cost involved ?

    cost: ~$1000

Ive done it with my 360M. had the calipers painted from black to red at F of LI. process involves sandblasting and baking (many times). they can put the words Ferrari back on the calipers :D

lots of aftermkt companies do custom caliper colors with the ferrari logo.

Why is painting better than powdercoating?

i heard that the intense heat on the brakes might screw up the powder coated caliper in the long run. baked paint can withstand a higher temperature.
i may be wrong though. ask around

I think it's the other way around. Powder bonds better and is cured at higher temperatures than wet paint. I do know people who have powdercoated their calipers without any problems. I think both methods are acceptable if done right.

No, really ?? If done right ?? Maybe I'm a little slow, but I think it's assumed when someone has (paint) work done to their Ferrari, it's going to be done right. At least by any self respecting owner here who values and takes care of their cars accordingly, rather than dropping it off with the local domestic body shop hack with a spray can and decals...

Maybe so, Dan. But if it were mine, I'd make sure ANY work done on such a car; mechanical, paint or otherwise, was done to the highest quality/standards - that's a given when dealing with cars of this nature. Evidenced by the original question and the fact that someone would even care about the color of their calipers. That alone shows attention to detail and care for said vehicle. Hence the reason for my assumption.
Or, perhaps I was just havin a little fun with Viken ;)

Are the brush strokes noticable after the 3rd coat ? Those were some nice shots, and and even nicer garage...
