Sorry for my ignorance....what is the major difference between buying a CS or a f430(non scud- interested in a spider). How do they compare?
Now a second question, if you had the opportunity to buy a CS or a Scud which one would you go for? I am aware of the difference in price between these two, but taking the price out of the equation- what is your take?
Wanting to buy a special car to keep it for many years. I am keeping my 997.2 GT3 RS, so she needs a "special" friend.
Thank you in advance for all your help.

You just opened up a can of worms (LOL). In this thread it is kinda all about the CS. The CS vs Scud debate is basically "raw" excitement vs refined excitement, respectively. You can't go wrong with either a CS or a Scud. Your decision is going to have to come down to your own experience driving each of them.

CS or a F430 spyder, hmmmm... that depends if you gotta have a drop top or not, how often would the top be down, and if you want a smooth ride. If these are important then the 430 spyder is the choice. If you want two track ready cars in your garage, then the CS is you best bet.

No need to apologize. In fact, this question comes up a lot. However, this thread is really about CS prices and current CS's for sale. So, please do a search for previous comparison threads on your exact topic (or damn close anyways) and you will find lots of feedback from folks that have owned your Porsche and a CS and a Scud and 430s and lots of other input too.

Not necessarily, i really really wanted my first Ferrari to be a Spider, i love driving top down, but after test driving the CS and some spiders, i chose the CS. But i don't really care for a smooth ride though :D
If you have the budget, try to find a nice 16M!! Must be perfection!

Or buy both the CS and the 430 spider and DD the spider. The CS is a special car.

In full disclosure, I may be fully biased but I'm only half joking about the DD comment.

    Good luck in the search.

That is a very insightful/interesting comment...for the cost of (the amazing!) 16M one could get both a CS and a 430 spider (assuming list prices of 280k, 140k and 140k respectively...so let's call it "for about the same amount").

I've briefly driven the 16M and they are super cool no doubt. I found the 430 spider too soft for me (IMHO only and for me only) and thus decided that I will not own a base 430...I have a maser GS spider to pair with my CS...so I really like the idea of a spider and CS combo obviously...a CS and 430 spider is a great idea too!

I agree a 430 spider CS Combo is a fantastic idea. Either shows brilliant planning :)

I have a Maser GS Spyder as well, so my decision to look at the CS is also based on the fact that I don't need to drop the top. Having both a CS and a different car that is a drop top is the way to go - if parking is available...If that other convertible car just happens to be an F-car as well, then even better.

Does anyone know why the CS at Steve Harris in SLC hasn't sold? It has been there for almost 2 years. I looked at this car when I was looking. It wasn't at my level of need but as good as a lot others that have sold during this time.

    :)

Some of these CS's are selling quickly. If history repeats itself, we'll see even less inventory during spring and summer months.

Does anyone have any more info on 39424 listed at Porsche Main Line? I see it was HIGHLY recommend a thorough PPI be performed on a post a few days ago. I know a PPI is a must, but is there something out there on this car that I should be aware of? Thanks.
