It's not the miles. I know that car very well. When I was shopping for mine, I was working on that car and passed.
At the time I was considering it, the price did not reflect the history. It does now. If I was in the market, I'd PPI it and buy it! The way CS prices are going, you'll never lose a penny and in 20 years it won't matter.
Sounds like depending on what the story is it could still be a good buy for someone who intends to buy it to drive and keep. I still love the color.
After reading many posts on FChat I decided the CS was the car for me. It has the looks, sound and relative rarity that I appeals to me. I did have to sell a fairly rare BMW, a 1971 3.0 CSL (early prototype, only 169 made) to get the CS but I don't think I'll regret it. Scottsdale Ferrari is doing a few thing to get it ready to ship to Fl (belts, annual, tranny mount, fuel pump, cam seal and exhaust valve reconnect). Andy Falbo did the PPI. He seems very knowledgable was quite helpful. I would never buy an F car without a PPI. Btw, it took about a month to get the deal done. I will let you all know if the car comes as expected and post pics (hopefully I will have the car in a couple of weeks). Thanks to all (especially The Guru) who make this site so helpful, informative and interesting (addicting). It has helped me avoid pitfalls of buying a used exotic.
Congrats! First Ferrari? CS will make you smile. Who did you deal w at the dealer? Chris is great and Russell in service has been fantastic to me and my CS. Please post after you get the car and drive it letting us know what you think. Oh, and unplug that exhaust!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Congrats! The CS is special and you will love it. Did you get the blue car? I checked it out and it was stunning.
Yes, I got the Blue one. I initially wanted a red but something about that Blue that really appealed to me. I'm glad to hear your comment about the car, particularly since I bought without going out there to inspect it for myself. I dealt with Demian. The deal was a little complicated as it was a consigned car.
I went through the same thing when I bought a F-car sight unseen. It turned out to be a positive experience and I'm sure yours will too. Congrats on your purchase! It's a beautiful car!
Cross country, central Florida, the land of flat straight roads. Since I think the CS will be as loud or louder than my GT3 that would make for a tiring trip home. I will have to make a trip north to find more interesting roads and maybe some track time. Any other Florida CS owners know of interesting roads here in FL?
Andrew, I decided to pass on the Strad at FofNB and purchased the Nart blue Strad for sale at Universal Autosports. They are 1/2 hour from me, have an outstanding reputation and have the best Ferrari mechanics in my area. A PPI was performed and I drove the car today. The car has minimal clutch wear, both the brake rotors and pads are near new and they just performed the annual. all belts, fluids and filters changed. Car needs nothing. For the price I paid, it fit my bill with my current finances. Down the road I will replace the current tires when they wear and replace with re11 tires. The CS handles just as good or better than my GT3 (Very tight). The breaks are far superior and the ride is a little less rigid because I had motons all around on the GT3 and it was lowered a bit. I have to get used to the paddles. forgot to put it into first from neutral at a red light so was stopped a few seconds. A camaro was next to me. They will probably put on YouTube a camaro beating out a Ferrari at a hole-shot. LOL This is my first F-car and hopefully not my last. I think its a great first F-car. Andrew, you have been a great help with my CS search and I thank you for your expertise. For the FC members that I PM'ed, thank you all. everyone has been very nice and informative. This site makes Ferrari a true brotherhood that I plan on staying part of for a long time. PS: I will be adding a stripe to the car too.
George, Alright...you found your Stradale! Be sure to post your findings as you get to exercise her! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Michael. Can't wait to take it to the track. but not till after a few miata runs to get the rust out. Will do Dave.
George, you did it! You would've loved the CS at FoNB, but nevertheless you ended up with a CS that suits your situation. Congrats and welcome to the CS club. Now ship that thing west so we can add it to our rainbow of CS colors photoshoot. Post some pics when you're done tearing around town.
Just listed by McLaren Philadelphia. Rosso Scuderia, 17.4k miles, $149,995. Hope that stripey can be easily removed. Where's Quilty? 2004 Ferrari 360 Challange Stradale West Chester, Pennsylvania | McLaren Philadelphia Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nope....that's why I moved to Vegas where Pahrump is only an hour away. Stokpro.....those Scud wheels need to go too along with that sad stripe. lol My car is going into Penske Wynn tomorrow for it's anual and install of the stock sized MPSS's. I'll ask Rich to facilitate an exhaust clip so I can post it up. It's insanely awesome!
For sure. I was planning on going to Cali to visit some old friends. I would love to take it with me. Only problem I may never go back. LOL. I was all set on buying the CS at FoNB last Saturday when the Nart blue car came out the day before. Crazy how things can happen.
Were CS's actually produced in 2005 (how late), I've seen quite a few over the years advertised as 2005 but wonder if they simply took time to ship/ register and were actually built in 2004. Does the VIN contain the year of manufacture - from a quick web search it seems some regions of the world it does?
