CS Market

I had a car on BaT earlier this year and I had one individual who I thought was overly critical so I told BaT that I wouldn't sell the car to him and I didn't get any pushback.

 

I was happy overall with the price achieved with the car but, just as important, the car is going to a previous CS owner that is going to drive and maintain the car in the proper manner. I don't think the impact from Stradale1 was really felt since most people smelled him a mile away and there were plenty of proof points to call him out.

This was a fair market price and reflective of a CS that has been driven but well maintained. The problem with cars like the CS is so few come to the market that it's difficult to know what is high, low or spot on but this felt about right.

It's unfortunate that BaT doesn't ban people like Stradale1 but that is their decision. I will continue to buy and sell through their site regardless and it's usually how I start my day looking to see what cars I didn't know I had to have.

 

There's one coming up at the Gooding Auction this month with 211 miles. The car looks great but I think they're a little optimistic on the pricing

Yes why wldnt it be?

 

The rumor is that it was sold under a private sale and withdrawn from the auction. Speculation is for that to happen, the offer price had to be significant.

After reading this thread for ~2 years, and owning a Scud for ~2 beautiful years of joy, I have decided the early 2000s lightweight V8 Ferraris simply cannot be beat in terms of their overall unique and exhilarating driving experience and styling...so I am going to take the leap when the right CS pops up for sale, just not an easy car to find at the moment! Ferrari Rancho Mirage one looks great, but not sure about the asking price

 

Very similar to a Scud. You’ll find the Scud far superior in mechanical terms but the CS is far more beautiful (imo). The CS and Scud are truly one of a kind experiences.

 

How about handling? I have never been able to actually drive a CS, and not exactly the type of car you can ask for a test drive...curious your thoughts? Thanks.

 

As pure as it gets. Similar to the Scud in race mode with bumpy road mode off. It really does feel like a big go kart. I’ve had three CS’s and two Scuds. Have an ‘04 manual 360 now and it’s given me an all new appreciation for the Scud and CS. The Rancho Mirage car looks perfect. It’s a museum piece though with those low miles.

 

Thanks for the thoughts...yeah, I am definitely a driver, not a looker, so ideally I would find something with sort of 8-12k miles...maybe even more if it was taken care of. Just very light inventory out there right now!

There are a few out there in that range. What criteria do you have and are there any showstoppers…. Color,
Stripe/ no stripe, etc?

 

Bump for hunting down a CS. I've seen a ton of Rosso cars, but none with black stripes. Is there a registry where one might find the stripe options and possible cars floating around with them. Anyone have a lead on a Rosso/nero with black stripe CS, Rosso/nero with Black stripe Scuderia's are welcome as well.
