Me and Exotic Lambo have 430 challenge carbon brakes (all rear hats with centering inserts) and center locks on another 360 which we refer to as "the challenge car". We appreciate your input and used much of what we learned from you on that car!

I have stacks of CCB rotors in the garage and will try to weigh the 430 CCB rotor to see how much it actually weighs compared to others.

We weighed this car without passenger seat and a couple interior panels while we were working on it. Under 2900lbs with 1/2 tank of gas!

    Lightweight battery helped LOL.

Nice to see you weighing her!

Your current weight puts you @ 100kg's of weight loss (2884 lbs is 1308 kg's) so very close to the full ticket (but Im guessing without loosing stereo, electric windows, etc.) !

    Congratulations on this awesome restoration.
I'm in the middle of a less detailed one.
Did you sent all the sticky parts to be refinished by the forum vendor?
I think that is going to be my next project once I get the oem brakes back in the car.

No, I actually cleaned all of the sticky myself, it's pretty simple once you know that right method. I'm actually just started doing in my Maserati.
We have multiple sets of carbon rotors; let me know what you need.

That end product is awesome! The car looks very aggressive. Would love to see a photo set of the entire car when you're done.

You've done a great job. Well done.
I'm just doing some work on my stock 360, with challenge wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, all silver hardware changed to carbon inside, a titanium exhaust with sports cats and Supersprint manifolds. In the engine bay I've changed the intakes to carbon.
Got a really simple question - how do I refurbish the chrome on my headlamp cowls?
    Anyone got any ideas?

You would have to take the headlights out and take them apart, work your way through the wheel well.

Also want to add that in addition to the positive experience with Atlantis Motor Group (@AMG USA), being able to reach and learn more about Mr. Rosso from the previous owner @javfer who too it to museum level :). Thanks Jav!

I asked for a compression test below while the car was in the shop addressing minor items - was leaking some oil - which I wasn’t too worried about having owned many early Porsche’s but another nice service by @AMG USA.

    Clarification.

I meant that learning more about this Challenge Stradale from the PO helped in the decision to pull the trigger.
And on the comment about the service performed by Atlantis Motor Group, I meant that taking care of the last minute details like the minor oil leak was a good indicator iof customer service.. should be a given for a dealer in my opinion, but doesn’t always happen .

The compression test was an extra request that I paid for.

He has arrived. Battery was discharged so we had to push him off the transport. Eventually got him to the garage after a jump from the Cayenne. I noticed some minor dings on the drivers door. I guess you can’t help climbing in and out of the drivers window in those tight spaces. Who knows how they got there. Anyway PDR guru arrives tomorrow. I already removed the door card for maximum chance of getting the dents out. Car’s on the Lithium battery trickle charge that came with the car. Wife can’t wait to go for a drive- she renamed him ‘Vegas’. :) Super happy, already felt and heard the difference on that drive around the corner back home. Finally I am ecstatic I dont’t scrape the driveway. Was worried about the ride height, that said the GT3 was lower and so I suspected Vegas would be fine.

By the way getting off the trailer was a bit of a production. After the car wouldn’t start and trying to see if maybe it was the immobilizer or something else - I ended up getting in the car - through the drivers window of course- while my new buddy Roman stood in front and rocked the car back and forth, blocked the wheel, then strained and pushed the car, me and my fat ass up the little hump so that the car would roll back. I think I hit the handbrake a couple of times when I shouldn’t have which might have added some time to the our dance.

Oh and all this time he’s pushing and shoving and lifting up on the holy grail of front bumpers which by the way is partly how I started this journey.

I had acquired a spare 360 bumper from eBay and the challenge stradale fiberglass kit from one of the fchatters a few months ago. But then I thought, why go through all the trouble- I should just get the real deal- which was now being manhandled before my very eyes.

Anyway I think we survived- I don’t see any scratches, cracks or any evidence of stress from all the pushing on and lifting of the car using the front bumper. All kidding aside I am just thankful that Roman was strong enough and nice enough to help get it done.

Hopefully the car is indeed mechanically tip top and we get to do some quick weekend jaunts like we always did with the 360. I actually started to miss the coffee runs with the wife in Miss Red.

I suspect the ride will be quite different and can’t wait to see how the wife takes to Vegas.

Started him up (I need to get used to that start button because I tried to start with the key a few time).

Filled up with some gas at Shell and went and did a mini exploratory drive for a quick systems check. All temps and readings seemed nominal. Went home, iteratively added oil until it was just above the min level. Probably took another quart and a half.

Reinstalled the door card and inspected the battery area a little closer- mainly to find the vent which still eludes me. Maybe this battery doesn’t have one (?) if that’s even possible. Also took a closer look at the gaps.

The car feels less refined and more on edge than my old 1999 Gated. Didn’t push the revs to redline so it actually seemed less F1 and screamy than the 1999 gated which was outfitted with a Tubi.

I’m happy the car checks out and is as promised, drives straight and is a kick in the pants. I do was considering PPF before we drive him around.

Took a quick drive with the wife today. She renamed him yet again to “Monaco” - because she says car looked blingy from the outside with the stripes (like “Vegas” - where we went in vacation last week), but then she realized the interior and drive is more racecar - like F1 Monaco.

She does prefer our old 360 gated since it was more luxury :). That said that 360 gated had a really good sound from Tubi- more like F1 than Mr. Monaco’s iconic CS exhaust actually.

That said the only 2 drives so have have been short easy jaunts to check systems and to bring the car slowly up to speed since as I understand the car has been sitting and stationary as of late: so I haven’t really had the car up to full song.
