I expect this may have been discussed before, but have any CS owners found an easy way to switch the car's exhaust valves independently from the Race button?

It would be great to hear the "full voice" of the car without having to have the firm suspension that goes along with Race mode.

Maybe there is an easy way to just have the exhaust valves open all the time?

    Thank you for any advice!

Most people that want that just pull the hoses off the valves. Easily accessible from the back of the car. Plug the hose with a screw and secure loose hose.

I did that in a 16M and it's really too loud for everyday use. I prefer having a valve controller so I can make it quiet through the neighborhood or around law enforcement. While others make them, the Capristo unit has been what I've put on at least a dozen Ferraris.

Besides pulling the hoses, you can install an exhaust controller. Capristo makes a controller. Forza Componenti also has a controller. You should check them both. Both of them have multiple threads here on F-chat.

I believe that the fun the CS is the booming sound when pressure builds up and the exhaust valves open...
Having them open all the time might be annoying, plus you miss the transition boom...

Ran my 430 with hoses off for a while. Sounded crap at idle and low/med rpm. Also terrible drone at highway cruise speed. Stuck em back on pretty quick. I quite like the transition when they open.

I have them disconnected all the time and think its great, and the "ripping silk" at 5-8k rpm is spine tingling. But then I also leave it in RACE at all times.

Yes it would have same effect. On the 360 (of which the CS is same family) there is no problem that doing so would throw a CEL or logging a DTC. On subsequent cars ,e.g., F430, your ECU will log diagnostic trouble codes which could lead to a CEL.

Depending on the car, there is one or two vacuum solenoid valves. The 360 and 360CS have two. These valves control the application of vacuum to the exhaust bypass valves. You can disconnect these solenoid valves by removing the electrical connectors. On the F430 and subsequent models, doing this will cause error codes being logged. On the 360, no codes will be logged.

I disconnected my valves and did not like the sound at all compared with them closed.

It lost its off throttle response also i found.
