In my ongoing travails with my lack of any real seat comfort, I took some measurements of my CS's driver's seat, and would ask that some of you do the same so I can compare. The purchase order on my CS says "Large" leather seats were ordered, but this cannot POSSIBLY be the case!
Using a tailor's tape measure, I measured the front & back width of the seat cushion, both at the bottom & at the top, (from it's inside seam to inside thigh bolster seam). I also measured the width of the shoulder bolster from inside seam to inside seam.
    My results were as follows:
Bottom seat cushion measurement across the front-most seam: bottom measured 14in; top, and from inside to inside thigh bolster seam, it was 14 3/4in.
Across the rear seat cushion seam, the width at the bottom was 12 3/4in, the top, again, from inside to inside thigh bolster seam measured 13 1/2in. The should bolsters at their widest point from their inside seam was 21 1/4in.
I Probably can't do a damn thing about it now, since I got my car from a broker, and not a dealer, but I would really like to know what size I really have here. I'm going to have to take them to a master automotive leather upolsterer, and have the thigh bolster foam shaved down. What a crock to pay all this money for a car that doesn't have comfortable seats to sit in for more than 15 mins! I all my many yrs of driving high performance cars, I have never had to endure such unbelievably uncomfortable seats! btw, this is the 1st time I've ever had any sort of racing shells, and I do know they're supposed to be snug, compared to normal car seats, and no, I don't keep my wallet in my back pocket. When I get back into my S6 Avant, I feel like I'm in car seat heaven! Soooo comfortable! In case you're wondering if I just might have an extrordinarily big ass or something, well, I'm all of 5'9" and weigh 171lbs. Hardly.
In conclusion, I would again ask that some of you go out and take some accurate measurements of your own CS seats, so I can compare. Sorry for the apparent whining rant too, but I would hope that you would understand my dilemma, and my desire to find the real truth regarding my seat size.

goodwood - jack(la) sourced and posted the official details on the different seat sizing - you should in theory be able to ascertain what's what from that. it's in the archives.

although hmmm - maybe the picture is no longer there due to hte crash.....

i can't understand steve why you find the seats uncomfortable,
    unless:

    - you're a democrat
    - you never put the wing on i recommended
    - you're just more cut out for a 7 series with 24" spinners
    - you look and act like michael moore

seriously, they're my favourites ever, better than gt3 seats and pole positions... the adjustable back angle makes them more like a Recaro SRD... and i use a much more vertical angle than the angle of the gt3 seat which presumes you have a helmet on... unless i'm wearing a helmet.

say: God Bless America eight times while installing this hood and accompanying stylish doo dads, and the brother of Rap and Rice will ease away your troubles

Being an F-car noob, I don't know what site you're talking about. I would love to read what the specs are. And, thnx for attempting to take a measurement of your seats, even though you didn't give me the exact measurements the way I described mine. ;)

They're not comfortable 'cause they're too damned NARROW! No other possible reason. They dig into my hip bone and pinch my lower thigh. And, believe me, I've tried several different seatback angles, trying to find a position, ANY position that works.

Steve, I hate to tell you this, but I think you should sell the car while it's still worth something. It is the wrong car for you. At least Watt figured it out. You need something like a 7 series BMW if you want comfortable seats.
This is a sports car, not an old mans car...

Good 'ol Craig again. Hey "pal", if you've got a cool 1/4 Mil or so to spare, why don't you just step up to the plate and make me an offer on it I can't refuse, big boy? ;) I wouldn't let this unique example go for one penny less. And re your take on watt's comments, nobody's got me "figured out", esp YOU, mofo.
Hey, (everyone else), I'm not expecting "comfort" seats, but I do want seats I can be comfortable driving in for extended periods. No, I've never had racing shells before, and I know they're stiffer, and seat you more upright thatn standard seats, so I do take that into consideration. In my 5 yrs of drivng Porsche Turbos, or even the sportscars before that, they had regular seats, and were infinitely more comfortable than these things. I really do love everything about this car but those effing seats! I would consider switching seats if necessary, but never selling the car because of them.
fwiw, I did see the tag on the underside of the car, but I have to read it in the reflection of a mirror, and it's in Italian, so I'm having trouble figuring it out what it says. Also, just for kicks, I measured around my hips at the hip bone, where they're bugging me the most, and I'm 40 1/2in around. That's not too big, is it?

The seats run small, no question. My friend Kuzi has the "large" seats and both he and I are around 5'8" and 150-155 dripping wet and they fit us perfectly...

Me thinks you need an "extra large" if such a thing exists....

hey dave - i think i saw some pics of you and kuzi "dripping wet" on the net together.........

    ;)

not that there's anything wrong with that.....

i'm 6'0" 180 lbs and my seats are size large according to the order and the window sticker. they fit me like a glove and i love them to death. the alcantara is killer - it grips my ass just like i want it gripped! :). that cs of mine - she's such a randy *****!

swap the seats out if you don't love 'em. you don't want to be uncomfortable, that's for damn sure. i'll bet you could find someone with regular 360 seats that'd do a deal with you. or find someone who had regular 360 seats and swapped them out for shells and buy the stock seats for a steal.

I really don't want to get any "other" seats. I desperately want *these* OEM seats to work, so he's gonna take out the thigh bolsters, and shave a fraction of an inch off the foam, then put it back together, (both seats to match). Should appear totally OEM, seemless and undetectable. I figure if he can give me 1/2in on ea side, that's another full inch of room "down there" (at the hip bone). As i said before, I measured myself at 40 1/2in around the hips. That's not exactly "Michael Moore" sized, far from it! My God, I only weigh 171 @5'9"! Now my gullet on the other hand, well that's a different story. But we're not talking about a lack of seatbelt extension, are we! ;)

    I'm 6'0" feet and 180 lb now.

Ferrari wanted me to order size "M" for me even though I wanted to order size "L" , says size "M" will fit you with no problem.

but my CS is coming next week or so, I'll check mine and let you know ^^

Feel sorry that you don't like your seats.

where exactly is that tag? i'll double check my seats to see what size the tag says. i wanted to order XL seats, but the largest size was large. i've even sat in medium seats and they were fine. and i don't have a skinny keister either.

It's pretty hard to see, that's why I used a mirror. So, what does mine say?! I do see a capital L there!

    Your seat probably says:

    "Taglia L"

There's your answer, "taglia" = "size."

Steve, your problem probably lies with the leather upholstery. The alcantara material used in most Stradales has a lot more give and is more comfortable than the comparatively stiff leather seats - it's pliable and molds around you. I've found both types of seats comfortable but the alcantara a good bit more so.

See if somebody wants to trade.

I have seen VERY few CS's with leather seats, and you're right, this leather must be very firm and non-compliant vs Alcantara, esp in the cold. If you factor in the outside temps, that so far, every time I've entered the car, have been around 40 deg or less. Swapping out the seats would only be considered if I can't have these made to fit better. After a meeting with this Upholsterer yesterday, I'm confident in his abilities to customise their fit. Trading them for someone else's regular seats is out of the question, since doing that would hurt resale later. Only a separate seat purchase could ever be considered, and that would be the last possible option.

    Watt,

What kind of wheels are those on the yellow 360? Do you have a web address for more info on them?

    Thanks
