I was at a meeting today in UK and a few guys mentioned that one of the Main Dealershp Tech guys was saying that the Rotors wear out on the CS ,

Ive done 6 track outings and am just replacing tyres but the cluch / pads and rotors look good.

Anyone hear had probs in this area??

I thought that ceramic rotors had longer life than steel - unless you allowed the pads to wear excessively in which case the plates could damage the rotor.

As I understand it, “wear-out” for the CS rotors is determined by cumulative high temperature heat cycles and is measured by an on-board computer. Beyond “wear-out” lifetime you risk catastrophic failure of a rotor. Within my limited circle, I know of no one who has reached wear-out of CS or Enzo rotors.

Thaks guys but from what im told some think that the cermaic disc actually waers much the same as the pad after time . On the old Porches the ceramic discs didnt last as long as the pads on track ...sounds expensive ..

According to official at the Brembo stand at the Frankfurt motorshow, CCM-rotors should last a whole life of the car if you don't do extensive track work.

where is the advantage here? ccm brakes only make sense to me if you track the car ie. can you tell the difference of 40 lbs unsprung weight on the street? doubt it. most cars that offer ccm are driven very few miles anyway so rotor life is not a consideration. huge $ of these should provide near lifetime of TRACK DRIVING

There are multiple advantages provided by the CS brakes including much larger rotors (380mm fronts, 350mm rears versus stock 330mm all around), lower unsprung weight, reduced fade, and I believe 6 piston calipers in the front versus 4 pistons. If one’s purchase criteria is to reject technology whose advantage can only be exercised on a track, may I suggest buying an automobile brand other than Ferrari and Porsche.
