We recently put a new battery in the CS and now it takes 2 or 3 tries to get the car started. Unlocking it works, the windows go down, you insert the key, press the button, and then nothing. The fuel pumps start up, all of the lights come on, and it says "OK", but when you hit the START button, it just clicks, it doesn't fire. After a few tries it starts up perfectly and runs perfectly. Has this happened to any CS owners? Any idea as to what might be the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a starter motor issue mate. :):)

I would replace the starter motor relay, it could be sticking and it only costs a few bucks. :):)

If that is ok, then it could be a sticking solenoid in the starter motor. Have the checked or starter repaired/replaced whatever. :D:D

I'd check the connections at the battery.

If they aren't clean tight and secure when you hit the starter button the demand for higher current can't be met.

As a rule of thumb (for me), when it comes to problem solving car issues, I always start small. Most issues are always the least obvious and the easiest to address. Before you start ordering parts and consulting indies start with the least expensive solution, especially if you recently did something yourself. Once, when I was in college, I installed this monster stereo. I accidently touched a live wire and then no more stereo. I almost ripped all of it out to test everything. Bench tested the amps, head unit, and Eq. They all worked. Reinstalled everything and nothing. Turned out it was the 10amp fuse in the fuse box for the radio. DOH!

Assuming everything was fine before you installed the new battery (excepting of course that the old battery was presumably completely flat and would take a charge) I think I'd be taking the battery back to the supplier and seeking a test and/or exchange.

try locking and unlocking the car using the red remote and see if that helps.
experience suggests that the alarm can lose its focus once in a while and that using the red remote clears its head.
if it starts then go black to the black one :)
if this doesnt fix it then you are on to more PITA solutions but worth a try
