Looking to add the CS stripe to my car, where can I source the decal for this?
I've never done this but... SEARCH is your friend. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=382145&highlight=stripe
Search no more, we are right here in FerrariAds. We have been supplying our products to Fchat members for the last five years. So far no complaints. I've even put one on my historic race car recently. Ciao Brenden Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Absolutely, to the finest detail. We also make them so they'll fit any model Ferrari. (They self-distruct on anything else.) Each Stripe is supplied as 4 x 4 feet (1200 mm) segments, a spare front segment in case of stone chips, a roof segment (even for the 16M), and an appropriately detailed engine lid segment as for the Scuderia and 16M. All our Stripes are laminated with a UV protectant high gloss clear, same as the material used for clear bras, this means it's very hard to tell they are not a factory Stripe until you get up close and run your finger over the edge. Interestingly, 70% of our sales go on original models, which came from the factory without the Stripe. Ciao Brenden Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm glad you asked about the Stripe and a clear bra. First, let me explain what happens if you were to apply a clear bra over the top of the Stripe; Although the Stripe is only a few microns thick, when you put the clear bra over the top, the clear won't adhere perfectly over the edge of the Stripe and because it's clear you will see the ridge and the very small air gap through the clear material, this will be quite noticeable. However, when you put the Stripe on top of the clear bra, even if you only do half the hood, there is only a small transition point where the Stripe goes from the bra to the paint and because the Stripe is not transparent its very hard to see. If you do all of the hood in clear you wont see it at all, which is what we recommend. If you are going to drive the car, the bra and the Stripe will get damaged in time. There is also a high gloss clear coat on the Stripe, it's thinner but fairly tough like the bra, but it's not bullet proof. You'll probably find, that if the Stripe is put on professionally, you won't be able to get it off without damaging the bra. At some point you may have to replace both, that's why we supply the spare. To sum up, put the bra on first then put on the Stripe. I hope that answers your question. Ciao Brenden
