Thanks for everyone for posting their comments and opinions!!! All greatly appreciated. After reading everyone's posts, I made my decision last night, prior to seeing the unveiling of the 599 here (which was quite impressive - 4 599s!).

    The verdict....................................keep the CS!

Overall, the CS fits well with the other cars I own; it provides that raw energy, excitement and passion that the Porsches don't offer (but for the GT-3 Cup car), and as frequently stated, I would regret selling it the moment I did and would then feel compelled to find a similar one to alleviate my guilt. The CGT fills the F430 Spyder void, while the CS more than adequately quenches my Ferrari thirst.

I will continue to hold my hopes out for a 430 CS for the near term; if not produced, I will order up a 430 Spyder AND keep the CS.

Thanks again to all who provided the valuable insight and commentary. :)

    fred,
now that there has been a possible 430cs spied in the post linked above, if you get a chance for one
i would still like to express interest in your 360cs at the time you were to recieve the possible 430cs.
unless, of course, if for some reason you are locked into trading w/ your dealer.
if it's coming i'm going to try and get the 430cs as well, but i imagine my chances of getting an
allocation as a first time f-car buyer would be next to nothing. :)

I hear From a very good source close to the factory that there will not be a street legal US 430CS produced due to the high cost of meeting US regulations. Euro models will only be produced. KEEP YOUR 360CS!!!! It is a limited production vehicle! We may never see one produced for US soil again!!!

I'm not just saying this because I own one, but before I purchased my car, I did extensive research and my source is credible!

    Good luck with everything!

I own a CS .. have been driving F355, F430, 996TT, GT2 & Murcielago ... I still prefer my CS overall but Murcielago can be a good candidate ... keep the CS is a wise decision... :)

Lets look at recent Ferrari production numbers.

Ferrari build approximately 11,500 Ferrari 355's. Ferrari then went on to produce a total of 17,500 Ferrari 360's over its 5 years of production. However only 1,200 Challenge Stradales where made for world. Thats less than 7% of 360's ever built where CS specification. The CS *WILL* become a collectors item. Its one of the most radical back to the roots cars Ferrari has produced since the F40. In fact Ferrari made LESS Challenge Stradale cars than F40's! They produced 1,311 F40's!

If you keep the CS longer term the car will always put a smile on your face and is one of the nicest looking cars Ferrari have made in recent years. The many enthusiasts around the world will ensure the 360CS becomes a cult car over the years.

This may be slighty off topic but as a newbie, can you tell me if the CS comes in only F1 or 6-speed manual as well?

Hypothetically speaking if you were to sell that yellow CS, what is the market price?

    thanks,
    rick

Jack, your Lotus looks AWESOME!!!! What kind of lap times does it do around Big Willow? Must be a BLAST on the Steets! Have you tried Laguna Seca or Sears Point in it?

Rick, sadly the CS comes in F1 only...although most will tell you it's one of Ferrari's best F1 systems ever.

I'm in a similar spot. My 430 spider just landed. I'm trading in my 360 Spider which I still love. It damn well better be worth it...but good confidants say yes,

I don't drive the Stradale as much. I like a ragtop, esp in winter nites w/ the heater on in the foothills.

But everytime I uncover the Stradale I have to say it may be one of the most beautiful cars they have ever made. Nope.....not for Vegas runs. Special times. But it's so SPECIAL. I think to myself "I'm among the living"

    A Spriritual experience? Maybe.

One curios thing. At the "Best of Italy and France" show here in SoCal I had three inqiries asking if I wanted to sell it.
