I heard that CS tyres have a certain shelf life time if left on the shelf and not used. Can anyone advise if this is correct, and if so, what factors does the tyre lose if not used? Is it possible to check how old the tyre is as they don't appear to have any dates. Thanks
Manufacturers considers that a tire has a lifetime of 7 years also if it is not used. but aged over the tire the less effective. Somewhere on the tire, you can see 4 numbers, for example 07 08. 07 means that the tire was made the seventh week of the year. And 08 means that it was made in the year 2008! Hope this helps! Dino
I looked at a 7000 mile CS not long ago when I was searching and the tires were dry rotten. Needed to be replaced.
