I have an opportunity to buy more Cuban cigars and am trying to decide what to try next. I picked up a few small boxes of Cohiba Siglo IVs the other day but haven't tried them out yet, they smell great though. They have a few of the Cohiba Siglo series but I'm not sure what the difference is. I really like R&J Churchills but they are a bit more expensive. They have Montecristos but I haven't ever tried them.... The prices don't seem too ridiculous but I'm not really up on it, box of 5 Siglo IV for $66, box of 25 R&J Churchill Tubos for $300. Didn't see what the Montecristos were going for. Are these prices reasonable? Any suggestions? I generally like a medium strength cigar, the R&J Churchill is probably my favorite.

    Those seem like reasonable prices.

If you like the RJ Churchills, you're gonna love the Partagas Lusitanias. Try Vegas Robaina torpedos and Sancho Panza Belicosos. Monte 4's are great little smokes too. :)

Will look for those..... I just tried one of the Siglo IVs and it's nice but a little mild for my taste.

Traditionally Cohiba Esplendidos/Robusto are more famous smokes but I find the Siglo VI their best cigar, but like all cohiba's is unreasonably overpriced... When I come back from Europe I get Simon Bolivar (try the Robusto is phenomenal box-pressed), Hoyo de Monterey (Epicure No. 2 - another nice robusto), also if you like Montechristos you might want to try Diplomaticos (made in same factory they are the "cheaper" line but I actually prefer them to Montes)

good luck and let us know what you end up smoking :)

Indeed, Epi II's are very good. Another spicy Robusto to try is the Partagas Serie D #4.

Montecristo As are one of the best money can buy! A 1.5 - 2 hr smoke. 9.5'' and 47 ring gauge. Be careful they are very rare and most are fakes esp. if you buy them in Mexico. Remember the photo with Jordan, Pippen and the Bulls smoking their cigars after their championships - that was the Montecristo A's that Reinsdorf (Bull's owner) had passed out to the team. Unbelievable stogie!

Went back to buy cigars today and ended up getting some more R&J Churchills.... selection wasn't too great and all they had was a variety R&J sizes and some Cohibas. Was surprised to see after I got the boxes open that the one box was in the silver aluminum tubes like I'm used to and the other was in the red and white painted. Looks from the boxes that one is '07 and one is '06 production. The tubos were a little more expensive than the regular boxes but I figured they would probably be more consistent. Of course now the humidor is completely full and I'm reduced to packing them away in tupperware...... :)

Obviously I'm not in the country right now......

Picked up a thing of Jose L. Piedra Cazadores this time. They are on the cheap end of the Cubans but I was happy to find that they are an excellent smoke.

On the other end of the price spectrum I also picked up some Cohiba Esplendidos. Haven't tried them out yet but they sure smell nice.

This is a monster cigar and a powerful smoke. One of my favorites. I have a few vintage ones that I've been saving for special occasions.
