Is there anyone on the board that attended a Culinary arts program? If so, any advice or anything to look for? Where did you attend, why did you attend?

I just sent applications in to half a dozen programs, some more prestigious than others of course.
My experience is limited, but I do have restaurant kitchen experience in an Italian joint here in town.

My brother is a chef and graduated from Johnson & Wales. Know he went to their Providence Rhode Island campus first and then Norfolk VA. Don't know much more except that he can whip out some tasty treats.

I'm a CIA graduate 1988, and Centre International de Glion grad asst. 1990... and have been in the food biz for 25 + years.

what do you want to know?

I went becuase i love to cook, and saw it as a way to see the world and make a good living. so far it has not disapointed me. However I dont cook any more professonally, but am still in the food biz.

Culinary school is just like anything else ... you get out what you put into it.
