Doh! Arriving at home last night after a nice drive and dinner out. Maybe should have skipped that second beer because when I pulled up to the curb to get my ramps out, crunch! Nooooooo! Well have no fear, Italian car guy with Da Vinci tech can't sleep on a problem like that. This car is wider than the 348. Grabbed my sanding blocks, dremel tool, polish, a small tub of water and went at it. Bad position in garage but I did it lying on my side. Trouble was, I ran out of medium grit paper so I will go back to that and refinish. These OZ wheels are super strong. Sidewall bumper helped too. Before and after pics. I'll move the car and maybe lift it so I can turn the wheel. Almost done. Balance shouldn't be a problem but if it is, I'll take care of it when I get my new tires. Drive was awesome out to Dover. Waiting for reg refund check from FoLI to pull the trigger. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Michelin PS3 have a curb guard . ..might hold off on the beers though if that was the issue. 360 is the next 275GTB
Wow! A little sfumato and elbow grease and it's looking quite good. There may have been a clear coat but every time I tested a polish, it came up with gray residue. Maybe I am seeing wax build up? Later as I cleaned up, it started to blend more. Maybe it's basic oxidation? Lips is supposed to be "polished aluminum." Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
These old BS PP S04s do too but tuner stretch kind of be negates that. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Pics are too awesome for Tapatalk. I'll post to fb and port over tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
OK here we go. Just not sure if there was a clear coat or not. Every time I tested over the 3 years I've had them, I could bring up gray/black residue like I was polishing bare aluminum. Maybe I had wax buildup over the years? They never looked dazzling. Just shiney with a slight milky gloss. Thanks! I'm amazed and ready to fix some body rust on my 2000 Miata Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Just heard from Nick at Tire Rack. Yes they are clear coated and I should be able to fit a 245 front and 295 rear. Just check suspension clearance. They advised the spacers in the first place transferring from the 348. I do have wheel clear coat so I will coat it when I am happy with the finish and polish. Still some sanding scratches and dimples to smooth out.
