I'm extremely curious to see what everyone's take would be on this car. At that price, I could pick it up and make it a track toy. The mileage doesn't really bother me if the car has truly been cared for and maintained properly from new as the ad states. Obviously I know this isn't a car for resale. This car would be driven and driven hard, but very well maintained.

I think it's priced too high.

A dealer local to me just sold a 360 F1 in the same colors with 22k miles and a fresh belt service for $10k more.

Wow good to see someone drove the hell out of their 360. Sadly mine gets less than 2,000 miles a year due to work, family and coaching commitments. A good PPI with leakdown tests will tell you a lot.

WOW I like to see that century mark! Gives me hope that I could possibly sell mine one day if needed and break even! :)

I've already spoke to a hardcore enthusiast in that area who recommended 2 individuals that could do a microscope PPI for very reasonable. Based on that, I would HAVE to assume that they could find SOMETHING that would give me further leverage on the price. According to one of the inspectors, he has the equipment and lab access to be able to do fluid analysis even.

sounds like a good deal if maintenance is done. i doubt it would depreciate much if you put 10k a year on it and sold it in two years even

A little high I would say. I would pass on it. Its not about the miles, its about the baggage that comes with it.

I a good PPI with leak down would tell you if its a good deal. Motor rebuilds are not cheap.
Andy @ Ferrari Motor Service would be able to help you and he is not terribly far from the airpark (maybe 20 min).

A great deal! Needless to say the bugs are ironed out with that mileage.

Andy was one that was recommended actually. I really enjoy the spec on this car as I haven't seen many 360's in it.

There is hope for our cars! I love when I see high mileage. I would love to know what has been replaced/serviced during its life.

Hmm, might be ok. 2002 is early, no? I would have a ppi done or at least check on last belt service, suspension ball joints and bushings, transmission mounts, engine mounts and exhaust ecus. Variators tsm, and disareator style to see if it has an upgraded design or not. Otherwise be aware of oil ingestion possiblities and possibly check the intake plenums. Butterfly valves and bushings there too.

I've had a fairly in depth conversation with the inspectors and I've agreed to pay them whatever it takes to inspect the car just shy of taking it apart. So we'll see. Neither was willing to speculate on a counter price until they see the car in person.

51K already seems like a As-Is price. Granted the motor isn't worn out.

I love silver on these cars, the light reflects off he curves so well. From the photos, it looks like a well loved car that served it's master well.

That said, low 60's will get you one with 70,000 less miles.
More proof how bulletproof these cars are but no way is it worth 50K.

If you had to put a number on it, where would you be on this car?

Honestly, I have no idea. I do know that you are most likely the only potential buyer. If anything happens to that engine or the transmission, you will be upside down in that car by a huge sum of money. The best case scenario is you end up with a super high mile Ferrari. The worst case scenario is you end up with a super high mile Ferrari that you just put a brand-new engine in.

If I had to guess, I would think it is worth what he's asking for it minus the cost of a potential engine rebuild.

    So,

    $50,100
    - $45,000 for engine rebuild that probably isn't needed

    = $6,000 for a high mileage/running F360.

    Come on guys...

Well, when you put it that way I guess it does sound a little ridiculous. From the photos, the car looks very nice and I'm sure it was well loved. These engines are probably good for 250,000 miles... I'm just not sure what anyone's motivation would be to not just cough up 10,000 more dollars for one with 30,000 miles. Possibly less actually, a guy on this forum bought one a few weeks ago for $55,000.

Don't come on guys me, lol. I was just curious what kind of number he was thinking. Don't tempt me, I'll buy the damn thing and put an LS motor in it and just have my 430 standing by for authenticity. Only to be kicked off of this forum, ha ha.

Do you really think that 100K miles is all that the 430 engine can take? Come on!
And even if that exact car needs an engine rebuild , I think that $45 000 is a little too much. New set of piston rings and bearings and new engine sealings + work doesn't cost that much.... at least in Europe.

But anyway - I would ALWAYS prefer to buy that car for less money, then rebuild the engine and have basically a brand new engine, than just buy a low milleage car.

If the service has been as comprehensive as indicated and the car passes a PPI the mileage shouldn't be as much of a factor as the market likes to make it.

I greatly appreciate all the input here. As I am a HUGE gearhead, driver and enthusiast of all things fast, that doesn't mean I know half of what some folks here do.

I have a receipt for an engine replacement from a car I was considering (that is now owned by another forum member). It was a Ferrari reman straight from FNA, dealer installed. The grand total was $26k, I did not see any FCA discount and I'm assuming it could be used.

I gotta vent here...as a "high mileage" 360 owner (55k), I really don't get the mindset that these engines are timebombs over 30k. My local dealer said they have several 100k+ 350's that are still running strong, in fact, in my time (admittedly short compared to some) of researching, I think I have only come across a total of 2 of these cars that have had catastrophic engine failures. These are racing-bred engines made to withstand the most severe conditions you can throw at them, and there is no reason for a 6 digit car to not be able to go well above 100k miles before needing a rebuild.
