I know... I agree with you. When I was 16 I helped build a truck that won the "Lowrider Truck Of The Year" award three years in a row. I'm not into Lowriders anymore but at the time it was a really cool project to be involved with. The whole engine & transmission were plated with 24k gold and the truck & frame were airbrushed by an artist who's work is in the Smithsonian museum. The build quality was top notch... Everything was 100% functional. The owner spent over $350,000 on the project and it was all done in my friends garage hidden behind his salvage yard. The shop conditions looked similar to the one that painted Carty's car. All the work was done there for secrecy.
