Anyone recommend a place to exchange currency (Dollars to euros) as I'm going to Italia (Ferrari/Ducati museum visits yes!!) and am suspicious of most of the exchange places....

Best bet: Just use a local ATM machine. You get the best rates.

Exchange a few dollars here and then use ATM in Italia preferably with debit card (no interest). I got the best exchange rate in the bank in Maranello. If you are planning France then exchange your dollars in the post office. They give government exchange rate and do not charge commission.

ATM is definately the best rate as the others have said. Make sure you check with you bank to make sure you have a compatible password before you go. I had to change mine from 6 digits to 4 when I went.

LMAO I just came back from Italy last week. Stupid me wasnt thinking and tried to exchange my money at the airport.......when she tried to tell me what I was getting back I just told her to give me it back. ATM's are the way to go but just keep in mind that if you go to a local bank then you will need to bring your passport.

I'm not sure if its true but someone also told me that Bank of America can exchange it for you and will give you the flat rate?

Bank of America? Small world. The bank was founded by the Gianninis', who originally hailed from Montecatini in Italy and came over with my great-grandparents. I'm going to be in Montecatini next week to visit relatives. Montecatini's other famous son is Sirio Maccione of Le Cirque fame....
