Guys, My Lambo Gallardo is up for sale and I'm gathering data for the upcoming F12 purchase. There are several very attractive 2014's for sale on Dupont / Auto Trader. The price spread is large. I'm guessing the pricey cars have tons of high profit margin BLING inside. I'm buying this car for the engine, transmission and the suspension. A nice leather interior is a bonus. Not really interested in all the carbon, custom colors, inserts etc. I hesitate going to a F dealer until my Lambo sells because I know what will happen. They will reel me in and I'll walk out an owner. Before I go in, I'd like to get a feel for a "basic" F12 with just the go fast things a car guy lusts for. 1. What is the base MSRP of an F12 with a standard solid color? (Love the burgundy) 2. Would like to get the racing seats. I'm not a track guy, they just complement the car really well. How big is the ticket for those? 3. Painted calipers finishes the look 4. When does the model year change? Is a new order a 2015 or 2016? That's all I really care about. I could never turn on the radio or play a CD in my Lambo. The exhaust note was the symphony. Nav - I have an iPhone. No other options really appeal to me. When and if resale time comes, I'll have a fairly priced offering that still embodies all the goodness of a Ferrari. Any information or advice would be appreciated. Assume you are in the US? If so, the pool of available used F12's is relatively small, but growing. FNA has been trickling the cars into the market, which has limited inventories and propped prices up. Many/most F12's spec'd have a number of options on them; I cannot recall seeing a "stripped" F12, then again, with a car like this, and at prices like this, getting the car fitted out nicely and with what you want is part of the experience, at least to us. If you can demonstrate some willpower, I'd go see your Fcar dealer and at least sit and understand the options and choices. Even if you wanted to buy new, there is likely a decent wait for an allocation. Sat/Nav is standard in NA cars, so you can just leave it turned off. Racing seats are great, but inevitably you will want to do stitching, horses, (i.e. $). We had them in our car, IIRC it was $7K for them. They are carbon, which then leads you towards the carbon wheel/LED's, etc etc. Parking sensors, camera, et al are all options, but frankly almost required for usability (some will disagree). Model years change sometime between June and September; it all depends on when your car started production. I've received next model year cars in June, and last model year cars in September.
Thanks. The trade off is as you suggest. A new model with a wait for production with only what I want versus a used F12 available immediately with a set of features some of which may be irrelevant to my enjoyment of the machine. Cincy
Base price is $327,745, and then you can add as many options as you want. I would say if you wanted to go light on options you would have about another 30-40k in options. Things just add up quick.
I suggest that the pricey cars have the right interior/exterior colors, new condition, low miles, in-network service history and no more than two owners. Then you can weigh the bling last. Without the first five, the price will be less and so will the desirability even with options. The really good news is your going to own an F12! Good luck.
