Is mid 500's the range for a good honest F40 driver?

Not trying to start anything but I am interested and I don't get Cavilino that has a Mercado.

    How are ya doin Drew,

Its all dependent on what F40 you want. 580-650 is about average today, but do you want a concourse type, I know people who have paid a high premium for a low milage 100% correct version while a "driver" F40 can go for less. You need to think of how you are going to use this then see what slot of F40 your going into. Hopefully a few users can help here (Mr, Sacky, RufMD, and other F40 owners. I know of a few members who recently purchased a F40 within the past 3 months and they can probably give you a better insight on the market and what is out there, and considering the low amount of F40's you can probably get a good database of cars to consider and stay away from. Good Luck on the search! Either way your getting yourself a F40!

Id say its "the range for a good honest driver"... but you'd need to be much more mileage & condition specific to be accurate

Thanks gentlemen. That helps. Before I got serious I just wanted to make sure I was in the right ballpark.

One last question then I'll leave it alone. I get the impression that mileage is more important on these cars than on others. If that is the case, is that because of anticipated maintenance, etc. or is it just a proxy for low mileage equals better condition?

    Appreciate your comments,

    Drew

When just about every F40 has somewhere between 500 and 5,000 miles, a car with 11,000 is a "very high mileage car." That is of course absurd, but that's what the consensus is.

Really "maintenance" should be similar on any F40 regardless of mileage, up to a point. Getting your 15k F40 a regular service should be no more expensive than bringing in one with 3k on it.

Every car is different, though. One car may have a handful of track miles; the next, simply driven lightly on most weekends, and all in between.

If I planned on driving the car my strategy would be to buy a well maintained "high mileage" F40 and simply put more miles on it, if worried about mileage depreciation. The initial difference in price would be substantial and any further miles would be less likely to influence its value. But if you're planning on keeping this car then that doesn't much matter.

On a 13k mile F40 at that price there will be wiggle-room.

Bruce & Spencer Trenerey are great folks by the way.
