I am looking at buying an FF over the next few months in the UK.

I was looking at used with pano roof and didn't consider a new one until I spoke to a dealer who offered me a very good discount on a factory order. The car would be built later this year.

My worry is that I am buying a pre facelift car, but the dealer has hinted that maybe the facelift will be V8 turbo only which I would not want. I want the V12 experience. Can anyone confirm this?

I guess a pre facelift V12 would drop heavily in value when the replacement comes but if it is only available as a V8, wouldn't the Pre facelift car hold its value a little better?

Any feedback much appreciated. Also I'm unsure when the facelift starts production but I'm guessing mid to late 2016?

FF and F12 will remain V12s as for now. The dealer is only trying to lure you into buying new.

OF course the best moment to buy used is after the replacement HAS COME, not before, as we all know, so even if u buy used now, you will experience further depreaciation (less than US and ROW cause in the UK u got less numbers, but still)

Don't know about the v8 vs v12 thing.
I,too,am looking at getting a lightly used FF to use as a daily driver.I have a 458 spider so would want a V12.The more I research the performance and owners experience of the FF the more the idea grows on me.
The use ones I am looking at are in the £200-£220k range
What kind of price is your dealer suggesting you can pick up a new one with good spec??
I would be very interested to know
    cheers,bob

According to the dealer there is definitely some sort of V8 turbo derivative coming, whether that is a separate model, or a restyled FF or not is unclear. I don't mind buying new now as long as the facelift FF isn't drastically different. ie. Just front and rear bumper restyle. But if the actual FF body style changes, eg. Roof line, then I'd prefer to wait and see. But as I said before, if they drop the V12, I'm not interested.

If anyone has firm info on specs and when the facelift/new version will go into production that would be very helpful for me to make my decision.

There is no confirmation of anything but the implication from last May's five year plan was Geneva 2016 so UK deliveries possibly not til Easter 2017

There is an argument that if you can afford to lose the best part of a hundred grand on a new FF in the first place if the final resale figure is out by ten or twenty at the end of the day is not very different so you might as well do it now - after all when the new one is out its only a few more years til the next one so you might as well then wait for that and so it will go on

+1 .. get the discount the new one will likely not be available with the discount so maybe that is a justification..

Ff will remain v12 - dealer is trying to move you.
Drop me a PM if you don't mind sharing the offer - would love to know what discount is - I could see sense in me upgrading to pano roof and perfect spec with the right discount...

If you want a FF you need to do it now. Waiting for the next new Ferrari is rather silly. Yes you will have a momentarily more valuable car if you wait, however you may wait FOREVER because of the new Ferrari coming out in the next few years. And in a few years there will be another to wait for. The Ferrari experience is costly but amazing. Any new Ferrari is a terrible investment ... the experience is more than worth it.

I have owned 15plus V8 modern Ferrari's and just bought a $387k MSRP 2012 with 4,500miles for $200k. It is the most amazing car I have ever owned. Do yourself a favor and buy one now to not loose the drive time and trade in on a new one if you like the newer model.

I daily drive my FF. She can be a mobile office or an absolute animal in an instant.,

I am pretty sure facelift FF is staying with V12. If they bring up TT V8 on new FF than it will be obvious that new CEO Sergio is pushing new idea that is uncommon for Ferrari.

If that happens then maybe the V12 FFs will stop dropping like a rock.....nah doubtful! :)

I've put 6000km on my ff in the last 7 weeks. I love it to death and think it's the best DD out there. If it came with a 700 hp turbo v8 I'd love the car I'm sure. However if it went for a v12 to that turbo v8 it'd be a harder sell for me after already having the v12. The economy could only improve, the torque may improve but the sound would take two steps back.

Price droping is related to the design of FF since performance and driving dynamic is absolutely superb. So if they want to slow down price drops and increase production they need radical design facelift, not engine swap for V8.

Good data point, that's the price point I had a feeling '12 FF's would be selling at. I'm in the market for a used one and see several listed at ~$250k, but I always wondered what they were selling for. Did you buy from a dealer or private? Thank you very much in advance for any info.

I too have just ordered a new FF for July delivery and went through the same issues of whether to wait for the facelift or not. I plagued my dealer for info on the matter and had it from the horses mouth (I quite like that) that there would be no metal changes to the FF but front bumper modified to enable air flow for V8t plus minor rear diifuser changes and possibly but not probably slight mods to the tailgate. Inside you get Apple Car play which is available now anyway, and 8 speed box which I don't want as you are never in the right gear for long enough to enjoy it plus 700 ish bhp which you can get now with the mildest DMS map which also improves mpg by 10%.

But more importantly knowing it wont be launched until Geneva next year and UK supply wont be until late Autumn 2016 at the earliest I decided to have one now.

I gather though from what was offered that the V8 FF is China driven due to heavy import tax on 3999 cc and above and may well not appear in the UK but if if does it will probably be priced only a small amount below current FF and may well not have 4 x 4 as standard fit. the new facelifted FF V12 would therefore move upwards to say at least 240k plus options.

Seeing what has happened to California prices since the T launch has encouraged me as they seemed to have rallied slightly owing to the typically 185-190k final optioned cost of a new Cali.

Further, it wouldn't surprise me to hear that the FF and F12 will be the last of the standard V12 production cars as more of their intended market, China, Russia, Malaya, Australia and the US are imposing punative import taxes on anything over 4 ltr.

Thank you for that valuable update. I'm hearing pretty much the same thing as you although it's unclear how long V12 will remain in production. If it does cease production in FF i personally think it can only be good for V12 FF values as i for one wouldn't consider the V8 Turbo.

When i go ahead with my order in a few months i will try and get more clariciation and post on here.

V12 is staying in production, but in future you will get hybrid tech with it. Era with raw V12 (without hybrid tech) is ending with current FF & F12.

Scuds now fetching 200k plus, 360 challenges fetching near 200k, super americas now commanding 250k. 550 barchettas getting 300k, 612s hardening for good late low milers, 355s touching 100k. And early 09 Californias rallying to 90k plus
With only 167 FFs reg in the UK the only way is up........not yet but soon......the moment they pull the plug up they will go.....end of an era so get in early. In my opinion of course.

My car was bought from a dealer. I knew the previous owner who traded it in on two AMG cars at a Mercedes dealer. They were asking $229k for 2 -3 months. Went in and bought a new 2015 GL63 AMG and the FF for a hair of $200k. They lost $9k on the FF from what they took it in for. Ended up having my local Ferrari dealer buy it for wholesale and do the deal thru them. Merc had no idea what they were doing.

I think most 12 are selling a little over $200k but soon to be lower.

I can't imagine not hearing the V12 Capristo exhaust. I just returned from MotoGP in Austin and love that sound on acceleration. MPGs go down but spirits go up. I've yet to listen to any other music in my FF. Don't wait. Life is short.

Didn't the FF come out before the F12?? If thats the case, wouldn't the FF refresh come out before the F12 refresh?

Im assuming that FF would be released sometime end of this year (Frankfurt Maybe), and the F12 in Geneva next March...

All assumptions/speculation on my part based on release dates of the current products being sold now

I was told Geneva 2016 for the FF facelift and have further confirmation that it will be the plastic bits only plus a power tweak.
Agree with Tups11 go for it now rather than Aug next year. What's to lose?
