Don't buy any Ferrari right now other then the newer stuff. The market is artificially inflated at the moment. Sellers only at this point. This market I give until the end of this coming summer and prices will settle back down. Higher or lower then last year, that remains to be seen. Sellers, if you can get 200k for your TR, do it now.
I like how the 308 for $567k is just a flat price. He intentionally didn't tick the button for best offers. 567 or else...
btw guys, I had my Giallo 87 out with the local Ferrari club and we were joined by the Lambo club as well. After lunch there was a 'spirited' run home through the hills with a scenic stop. I ran the TR hard (my arms were a little sore in the morning!), and I stayed at the front of the pack with a Cali, Aventador, 2 Gallardo's, and a 993 turbo. When we pulled up everyone was asking about the TR and taking photos and couldn't really believe it kept pace...but it did. It was work, for sure, but worth it. The Larini exhaust is insane and all the ladies of various ages were loving it. The TR has still got it...and that's a fact!
Might not be the most powerful engine, but it is the strongest. You can get a jump on a TR, but you can't leave it behind. Genuine supercar.
interesting comments. I have always loved the Testarossa and five years ago i was almost ashamed to admit that let alone own it what would my 91 red tan, two owner belts just done by Ferrari, all documentation including window sticker, 10000 mile car be worth?
Those were the good old days for me. Everyone wondered how could the TR stay with modern toys. Yes she can and she will always be a head turner.
This is reflective of the new age I noticed. The 70s are over - seems sellers are much more firm on all products than 40yrs ago. Good or bad the market will dictate what will sell, who has to sell, who has to buy and who wants to buy. My biggest issue is when I go shopping with my wife for home stuff, try negotiating that one when they love something.
You're right Big Red...it is a new age for sure. Just try to even find a 'beater' 3x8 or TR on FleBay...all gone. "Needs work", "some rust", and "best offer" have been replaced with "Belts just done", "fresh paint", and "No offers!" I don't like that I have become priced out of an F40, but I do have time to either wait out the cycle, or hopefully make a lot more cash to get one. What I do however like, is that the remaining stock of our cars is being improved via restorations, so that when the mania is over, there are going to be some very nice cars to pick over.
I've been holding out for the 200k Daytona since 2008 - I just decided in 2014 that 250 would be the number, people have told me I'm off I'm rubbing my hands for the next mania to get over as well, but somehow i think I will be out of skin on my hands from rubbing before that day comes

This is feeling more and more like 1988 all over again, anything remotely interesting going for stupid money. TR is obviously a very cool car but I never thought I would see $300k in my lifetime for one. Nuts. If you have one, sell while the sellin' is good, buy it back for half after the next very overdue stock market correction.
What are you basing this prognostication from? Indexed for inflation, these cars have not appreciated at all. IMO they are still undervalued.
I believe the market may correct slightly, however, let's not forget that the new cars are very different!! Turbo charged with Massive torque, YES! Faster? Yes! Amazing sound ? NO! 3 pedals? NO! It's clear that most people on this discussion understand this and are buying, values are climbing. I believe there are many more buyers (not so in tune with the market) who are just beginning to understand and will also start to buy the last of the 12 Cylinder and especially the 3 pedal cars in the coming years. For this reason, demand will continue to increase and supply will obviously continue to decrease over time. I think one major point to the new prices is how new exotic cars are 250k and up so you may be in a position to choose between your dream cars and something new that doesnt make you feel that special. Plus one of them would apreciate the other depreciate.
