The director and I chatted about that car. Apparently the owner has this one and a red one. It gets a few scenes and some driving scenes. Not a whole lot of screen time but a great movie. I wonder what happened to the TR Dr. Dre Owned? When I asked Dr. Dre if he still had it he said it was sold long ago, but he smiled wide when he talked about it.
Well Stated, and my sentiments exactly. I wish I could comfortably afford a 1955 alloy bodied 300 SL Mercedes Benz Gullwing. I could buy one, if I choose to sleep in the Gullwing instead of my home.
Yes, but at the same time, your Lamborghini & Testarossa were increasing in value. So as with much in life, perspective becomes a defining factor.
Yes, but not at the rate of a F40. Ya...know, first world problemz lol Shamile Freeze. ..Miami Vice! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Holy crap! Freeze. ...."cold hard cash"! lol Shamile Freeze. .Miami Vice! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
With Don Johnson's notoriety as a Ladies Man. The inside of that Testarossa using a black light probably looked like a Jackson Pollock painting.
But...at least that's the current value of the car. ...what someone's willing to pay. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Well........it is a Testarossa. One can not hate Don for the magnet powers it provided him in his quest for the weaker sex!!! Long live the TR !!!! This paid commercial anouncement paid for by the "doors up panties down" commission!
You've been hanging out with those flashy good for nothing Lamborghini guys lol Strippers and blow for everyone! Shamile Freeze. ..Miami Vice! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
I thought the auction estimates on the Miami Vice car were upwards of $1M...anyone know anything about that? If so, the car came up way short, altho $600k ain't chump change.
Hi will post up properly when there`s some official results but here`s a quick summary: Can`t find anything on the Russo and Steel auction results but of the other 8 cars, 6 sold. RM: Black 95 512 m $440k - I think inc. fees not sure. Blue 89 Testarossa $220k inc. Rick Cole: White 89 Testarossa $335k inc. Mecum: White 86 Miami Vice N/S (600k) Yellow 95 512 tr $270k inc. Yellow 92 512 tr N/S (440k) Rosso 89 Testarossa $132k Gooding: Gun Metal 512 m $599k (not sure if inc.) Dom.
that was so 80s .... Everyone knows today's women don't wear panties anymore THIS IS REALLY GOING TO BUG THE HELL OUT OF brad and 88testarossa and a few other
Doesn't bug me, I already have one 😎 and bought 23 years ago. I just feel some compassion for those motor-heads/Tifosi v speculators who have been saving to purchase, only to be priced out of the market. Sent via itty bitty electrons
Thanks Dom, appreciated. Pretty strong results. Reflected also in other forums on this board. Those predicting doom & gloom are..., well, I guess still predicting doom & gloom, but now for next year!
The average consumer saving for quality appreciable assets ie: Coveted Area Homes,Collector Cars, Art works, Antiques, ad nauseam will 99.999375% of the time will have their savings be outpaced by the exponential rise in value of the commodity to which they seek. Otherwise there would be Picasso paintings & Enzos in the average American's home & garages. I would state with a great degree of confidence, that you did not consider the purchase price of your Testarossa 23 years ago, a bargain, yet 23 years later in today's valuation, it could appear as so, in relative terms.
Here's your chance to kill two birds with one stone ! Sell your TR to one of these motor-heads/tifosi that you feel for at a decent price instead of the bubble prices others are screaming about , and then go get that McLaren you've been dreaming about - it's a win win for everyone ! DO IT - you know you want to , what are you waiting for ? If TR prices pull back in the next 12 months you'll be upset , instead, if it works, it's a brilliant move ! Good luck !
Waiting a year for the McLaren 570s price to drop like the other McLaren models have. Turbo Joe seems quite pleased with his McLaren. But thanks for the unsolicited advice. FYI, I didn't buy any of my three Ferraris as investments. The price appreciation/depreciation curve doesn't matter one iota to me. I bought them to chase my passion and interests. IMHO, far too many people are self absorbed with rising prices. Some are just enthusiasts. I suspect we will likely see the bubble burst once again. History tends to repeat itself. Just look at the F40 historical prices. Cheers, and thanks again for your enlightenment 😎 Sent via itty bitty electrons
Actually, I saved/invested and paid cash for every Ferrari. I'm certain I may be the anomaly here. Sent via itty bitty electrons
I have an old VHS tape from the early 90s that was shot during the mania in 90/91 I believe. It is centered around Norwood's shop down in Texas. I'm going to dig through the closet and see if I can find it and post. Pretty sure I remember him saying things like this during the video. Had some good car footage. The commentary is super cheesy though.
