It is impossible to give a quick answer to your question. Here is the problem in getting a quick answer:
SE30: Only ~150 made; only 25 made for the largest market for exotics, USA, and some have left the USA; Very few ever change hands; I know of a range of around $160,000 to around $250,000 for these rare cars in the USA, and that is based on the cars' accident history, mileage, condition, etc. The market is far too liquid, and largely based on the specifics of the individual car to give a general price for these cars

F512M: More than 3 times larger production at ~500 cars; Many more change hands than the SE30; Sports Car Market (who is often wrong, but nonetheless considered the expert in the field) lists the range for a #2 car at $140,000 - $190,000.

So, in conclusion, I would say the range, in the USA, would be $160K - $250K for the SE30 and $140K to $ 190K for the F512M, which makes then similar in price with the SE30 a bit higher, as was mentioned is the case in Europe. In any case, both are great cars, but I would doubt that a person would be trying to choose one over the other because they are so different in looks and driving personality. I have never heard of someone trying to decide between the two. Perhaps you are the first? Good luck, but getting more concrete information that this is really hard because the market is really small and illiquid.

I cant speak to the 512..I am not schooled on thatcar well..and quite frankly have no desire to own one.

I CAN speak on the SE30. I currently own 3 of the 25 USA cars..a little more then 10% of the market..and probably the most one owner has. I have 3 types.

    1) I have a Red one that is probably the lowest mile SE in the country and one of the lowest in the world. It is totaly orginal and in a 10 for 10 condition. It has been fully maintained each season and carrys only new tires and upgraded chain tensioners. It did, when new, sell to an out of country owner. A few years back I was able to secure it and bring it back to the USA. I would consider this a Blue Chip, no questions asked "TOP" quailty collector car. I would not even consider letting it go for under $235,000.00

    2) I have another SE30 in the Anniversary rare color of Purple. It is also in extremely excellent condition. It is flawless in operation. It is so reliable I drove it in a 5 day rally that started in Seattle, crossing 6 states and ending in Las Veags..AND BACK to Seatlle with not a single issue. It had NO problem reaching triple digit numbers on the wide open ways of Nevada..leaving many other Exotics to the rear..ALL while the A/C ran ICE COLD. I would not think twicwe of driving this car from Seattle to Miami...which I may do in this years rally. I would entertain offers of $215,000.00.

    3) I have another SE30, also in Anniversary Purple with just under 6000 miles on it. BUT it is a bit more rare, one of ONLY TWO USA SE30 cars fitted with the OEM Factory supplied JOTA kits. It carrys a history as it was involved in an accident. I purchased it, thinking the accident was bad on the car. I had it go through an auction in Monterrey last year where it reached $165,000 bid, but I did not except it. I have since sent the car to world know expert George Evans. He provided me with a FULL inspection of the car..where we learned the car had NO frame damage and NO signs of any frame work...as many thought when this car had an accident and was repaired (that is another story with the insurance companys)..up on closer inspection...pulling the car almost all apart..it was found it ONLY had repairs to the front bumper (replaced), the passanger rear fender (replaced with OEM product NEW) and a rear bumper as well. The effected areas had been disclosed as being re-painted...in OEM factory paint so as to match and not have blend spots. After the report from George, we decided the car was in excellent cosmetic shape and had NONE of the possible accident issues as thought. The car is currently with George as it goes through a full $55,000 total remake of the mechanics, tires, clutch, brakes, gears, exhaust, motor out full rebuild, new tensioners, rings, valves, cams...on and on and on..it shoud be complete by May of this year..I have already declined an offer of $215K on the car...and not reallly sure it will be sold...when completed it will be the fastest, cleanest, finest SE30 JOTA around in both my Opinion and Evans as well. It will still have an accident history on CarFax..but with the knowledge and expert documentation of it having been a cosmetic minor accident..that is of NO CONCERN to me...

I cant begin to count how many Miura's, Countachs, GT400 cars and on and on..have had accident histroy WORST then this..had full re-sprays of NON orginal colors...and are traded with no issue all the time.

Roy's three cars are all excellent examples and he knows these cars as well as anybody, and having 3 of them, he pretty much sets the market, so his prices are good rule to go by. Where else are you gonna buy a good one?

A little more info...the last SE30 that I know of in the USA to trade hands was a Red one with approx 17K on the clock. It was missing its orginal OEM Magnisum wheels, (had after market) also missing its orginal OEM exhaust (special to the SE cars) with an aftermarket one as well..when I reviewed the car..I put it at about 7.5 exterior and 8 interior..no service records to back its histroy..sold for $160,000 with in the last 6 months.

seems for finest example each cars have the SE30 stays $30,000 to $50,000 above... both are very much collectible cars. As for me, I sort of a driver more than a collector. Each cars drive very much different... the SE30 is all about shear power, race car styling where the 512M is better maneuver and more refine grand touring... I don't dare trying to pick either one. I have the 93 Diablo and 93 512TR... both are great in its own way... The Diablo is most suitable for a sunday morning fun drive for 3-4 hours, but during the weekend of car club activities, 512TR give better reliable and fine ride through out...

As you point out, the plain Diablo and F512M are totally different cars and the Diablo is more extreme. As the SE30 is even more extreme than the Diablo, the gap widens much more. The SE30 is better compared to the F40 (although imo it didn't quite get as extreme or fast as the F40). That is why I have never seen or heard of one buyer trying to choose between any Testa variant and the SE30.

Yes, serious money is in Enzo-era Ferraris now. Just read in Sports Car Market a totally piece of crap 330 GT best used for parts sold for big money....It probably will be parted or be a donor car for a GTO replica anyways. Enzo-era Ferraris leads the pack today in values and appreciation, and that is just the way it is. Not so sure the Fiat era on, including TRs, is that hot though.

Maintenance on standard TRs will kill the value, the rear end failure can be almost $30k to solve.

The 512M had this fixed I believe but you must like the looks of the headlights, wheels and appointments. The Diable SE is a fantastic looking creature and overshadows all TR variants in my book
