Never really understood the vanity plate thing. Walked through the Corvette parking paddock at an ALMS Race at Lime Rock, and couldn't get over the ridiculous number of gold chains/bracelets, hairy chests, and vanity plates. Seems like having a great car would be enough. Different strokes I guess.

Small world, my 360 wore those plates before I took ownership of the car and the owner kept the plates.

My car now wears the plates WE33EE.

Lets imagine you did something in your Ferrari that you wish you wouldn't have and someone calls the police.

What do you think is easier for people to remember.....RED360 or your state issued plate number...say B73DP18?

I am sticking with my state issued plate.

You realize they could just search under "Model" and put in "Ferrari" and "Red" and the state and they will be able to find you in under a few hours. If they have even a partial plate they can catch it, and the new software also can correct for "close" characters

If you're going to do something stupid, maybe a Honda or Toyota... but your Ferrari... well... there just wont be that many to track down if they really want to find you.

Hell, a few weeks I was at a gas station filling up and there was a cop there getting coffee and he was like "Oh, you're the doc from Newfields with the Ferrari" and this was 6 towns over. Small world. Smaller in a ferrari

I am not suggesting anyone do something illegal...I am suggesting it is a lot easier to memorize a vanity plate than a state issued plate. Forget if anyone knows you...forget if it takes a few hours to locate you...neither is an issue in a large metro area.

I bet they can find you in Arizona if they need to ;)
Technology has come a long way. I work with a lot of cops, the ability to find people with mininal info is... impressive.

If someone wants to memorize your plate and it isnt the police... uh... well I guess thats why we live in Free states where we can carry a firearm ;)

Gotta have fun with your plate if you can. No need to worry about tickets as long as you're driving is as per the rules. Then again, with my little 17hp car, it's not an issue ;)

I've had some people contact me for cf plate frames because the DMV turned down their cheeky idea, so the plate frame was their way of full expression. I believe I did one that stuck it to the DMV- I don't recall how, but it was done in a clever way.

Vanity plates are cool but gives a person a easy way to remember you plate when they call the cops.
