    Hello,

My 550 has empty space on the rear parcel shelf that once held luggage. Since I received no luggage bags with my car I'm wondering of an aftermarket case or a custom one to fill the empty space.

Wondering if you have done this and what did you fill the gap with? Thanks :)

Six bags in total. My interior is crema, but my bags are std. beige. They are original Ferrari, but did not come with my car. I want to find a crema luggage set....

I think I would like to fit something on the rear parcel shelf just for aesthetic purposes.

You could always redo the rear shelf in leather and let it be its own decoration.

Valid point Terry. However, I'm very impressed with the trunk lid on this car and the interior in Crema. My suggestion is keep it as is and try to hunt down that Crema luggage set. It's a long shot, BUT I assure you it's possible to find. It will cost a lot to find this but they are out there. Less than 15 sets from what I hear.

My car had dark blue carpeting on the rear shelf, and when I got the quilted Crema leather instead, the car's overall appearance changed dramaticly. In the way that the car looks much better and the shelf itself is very beautiful and makes the interior looks bigger and the car look longer.

To answer the original question - see the hillsalive.co.uk website. They make the complete set for the 550, although it's not exactly the same as the OEM version.

Those Hillsalive bags look rather utilitarian. No bad thing perhaps and maybe more practical than an OEM crema set, but they don't really put the "grand" in "grand touring" do they?

Is that trunk lid in quilted leather an original option or is it aftermarket?

No, I made it through a upholstry shop... I like it. And it was cheap and easy to do.. Glued it back on together with some screws.

Can I suggest that you take them to a person who is experienced in recolouring leather. They do it all the time. Got to be cheaper and easier than trying to find new ones. If you do find them and want to sell yours let me know,

    Hi Tony.

I used the luggage for the first time yesterday on a 700 km trip just to test how they work. They are quite different than a standard hand luggage bag with wheels that I normally use. Last summer I had a long trip with the car, and we could not fit two of the std size handluggage bags in the trunk.. Too big. That was a problem because one had to go in the trunk And the other one at the shelf where it was too Big for the straps so they were moving around wearing on my new quilted leather.. Not at all a good solution. Now the big ones fit perfectly in the trunk. The only problem is that when I drive this car (which is dark blue), I have to wash the car quite frequently. When I do that, I have to take out both the big bags from the trunk to get down to the washing gear which is stored in the bottom of the trunk under the plate. Also, when I open the trunk/boot lid, the water on too pour right onto the leather on the bags... Not ideal either. I am not sure what I want to do. Either re-color them crema (which I was reccomended not to do by my leather specialist), or use the smaller bags for the shelf in the trunk because I think it looks a bit strange to keep those on top of the shelf all the time for those trips where I don't need luggage at all. That way I can protect them from the sun and see the full quilted shelf and get some more sense of room inside the car and also have some spare space in the trunk for everyday use. The big bags are very big and actually only useful for long journeys where you need space for enough clothes for many days... While on a trip like that, I discovered last year, that you also need some space for the "laundry" as you don't want to mix it with the clean clothes. :) So that have to go into the "under plate" storage area and then you need to take that plate in and out every time you put it in there and wash the car or need more oil or something. The most important thing is to get all loose items stored away so it won't "float around" inside that little cockpit. That means you HAVE TO have some spare space in the trunk. The medium bags for the shelf must be full of something too to look good and not flat when you secure them with the straps. I used a lot of paper inside so they look good. These bags are really nice. I just need to learn how to use them properly.... The FF bags I sold were more like bags instead of suitcase style bags. That might be more practical in the end.

The best thing is to store all the bags at home and pack them for each actual trip. They are impractical in the car if not strictky in need of them. I might use the medium bags at the short trips and the big bags for the long trips, but all four or six at the same time is too much because the car no longer have any space for the "other things". I guess I just need to travel alot this summer to see what works the best! The combination crema/beige on the shelf does look a bit disturbing. The combo Blu Pozzi / all crema inside look very clean. I like it better that way.

Is there anyone here who have any experience with these matters?
