Im thinking of Painting my Valve Covers on my 355, Bright red, does anyone have any prior knowledge of this...a good paint to use, or possibly some pics?

I'd say you could use an Engine Enamel, this is used for painting brakes as well sometimes. Just make sure to use something like brake cleaner to remove all traces of fluid/oil before hand. Also look into the brake painting kits.

You could go to your local Ferrari body shop and have them paint the covers.

try a search. I think Doc Tommy painted his VW valve covers in red wrinkle and they looked great. Pretty sure he posted pics, I think he said it stunk to high heaven when he cured them in his oven, wife wasn't pleased....

Get them powder coated and it will be the last time they ever need paint.

I have had them done in the past in "Desert Red" and it is very close to OE.

You will find plenty of threads in the vintage section about valve cover stripping and painting.

As stated get them powdercoated, paint (even high temp) will dull over time. Most places will do both valve covers for under $100 including blasting/cleaning.

I had mine powder coated and they look great! I went with the shiney finish, but they do offer the crinkle coat.

If your a DIY kind of guy, wrinkle paint in the UK is around £6 a can ($10) and will do two valve covers....very cheap to do and makes the engine bay look great (powder coating will last longer though)
