goes there... they have been in business the longest while others have come and gone..(mostly retired or died..) he is rare in that the son, a very nice guy..is following in the business or he would be closing soon. They are right across from Barney's upstairs in the building on top of Nicole Farahan ..such nice freindly people.. I use them as well. There are lots of choices in NYC from the few remaining and dying off old world european tailors to the newer asian and asian indian tailors to the many "fly-in take your measurements..flyout make it in Hongkong" fly back next week with your suits" ..I had an interesting service once where this incredibly hot girl would come to your office and "take your measurements" and then send them to a HongKong tailor...she worked on commission and soon she was "taking Measurements" for the all the suits in the office and getting dates and gifts -- you name it...she made a bunch of contacts and moved on to where last I heard she was "referring investors" for hedgefunds and making insanely large commissions...
Hi Noah, All of the above. I have a $500 certificate to spend there and was either going to get a few shirts made or add some money and have a suit done. Do you recommend them for one thing over another?? NYCFERRARIS - sounds like a pretty smart (yet unscrupulous) woman!
Gotcha...based on what NYCFERRARIS said you should spend your money and enjoy. I've never used them and have another custom shirtmaker that I'm very happy with, but as I said if you've got a Gift there, enjoy!! nlh
shirtmakers are a lesser skill and there are more to choose from and I am sure Noah has a good one....these guys have been around a long time and in my experience are good.... my advice..go to Barneys' first...look around and see what fashion you like get some ideas for what looks good on you and then go across the street and pick some fabrics with them and have fun.
I have had a number of custom tailors who have retired. About four years ago I found a really young (40ish) tailor who is excellent. The name is SCIORTINO TAILORS and his name is Vinnie. He has stores in Manhattan, Red Bank and Due Process Golf Club. I highly recommend Vinnie!!!
