Custom watch strap maker recommendation?

    I have a Seiko 6105-8000 that I’ve owned since new in 1969. It isn’t especially valuable but it’s special to me for personal reasons, and I still wear it almost daily.

    I’d like to have a custom strap made for it with a deployant buckle. I’ve been in touch with a couple of custom makers, but both are outside the U.S. so communication isn’t as efficient as it could be, their terms aren’t very flexible and I might want to send the watch to have the strap and buckle fitted to it, and I’d rather not send it outside the country just for loss and damage concerns.

    If anyone can recommend a really good craftsman I’d really appreciate it, and any first hand experience would be valuable. . Budget isn’t really a concern.

    Combat-straps.com has some beautiful materials and will do full custom inner/outer leathers and stitching.
    Aaron is a gentleman and craftsman. Good turn around time also
    They are located in Canada

    Greg Stevens Designs in I believe in Arizona has some cool repurposed leathers and great craftsmanship also. He is also wonderful to deal with and has great ideas.

    These are two totally different craftsman and designs as you will see when you check out the websites.

    I don't think you need to send the watch to have the strap fitted. Just give them the lug width and they can make the strap. Fit it when it arrives.

    I’m still searching for a place to have made a custom strap from exotic hide with deployant buckle. I found a place in Germany but would prefer a domestic shop if one exists.

    Not domestic, but had a good experience with ABP in Paris. They had quite a few different exotic skins available the last time I was in their shop.

    I never followed through with them because I couldn’t find the type of buckle I want on their web site.

    Order placed 12/18, I was emailed today they arrive 12/30. Pretty quick, given that they’re crafted in Viet Nam.

    I’m working with Aaron on a stingray strap now. Does anybody here have one of his or from another maker wuh uses stingray?

    Thus far, he has made two for me. Great experience and products. At this point, i am only using him for my occasional strap needs
