Some of you may have read my post on my CV boots leaking. Thurs when I took it in the mech. said there should be heat shields over them? Now my car was a '94 built car so he said it may not have had them being an early built car. So my question is when (what year) did they start putting heat shield on, and do you guys have them?

He was able to find a used set for me...:) he had them overnighted so I had my car back the next day...:D

Not sure what year it started, but my 98 has them---They are just molded fiberglass---When I put my Hyperflows on, I painted them Hi-temp silver!!!!

I installed new CV's on my '95 made of silicone. No more heat issues with silicone. If you have an option of using silicone in place of rubber anywhere in the engine compartment, do it. These F355 engines blast the heat.

I'm fairly sure my 348 had them(don't own the car now so can't look) so I would think that all 355's should have. Wouldn't be hard to add them doing so will save the boots.

I actually have both. The grease still gets hot inside even if the boots don't blow apart anymore.
