    I have about 6 hammers as well in different materials. I try not to use them as slips and dents and damage seem to follow for me :) But using the steel claw hammer made me cringe...and had no other option that made sense. It worked.

    From earlier in the thread:

    '79 Porsche 930 Boot on left, Aero boot on the right.

    Aero boot can be ordered from Pegasus - P/N 1474-108

    If you scroll up you can see pics i posted of the P-boot next to the Ferrari one. It is different at the mounting and the ID for the axle shaft is smaller.

    233 miles this weekend. Just took a peek underneath. Bolts are tight and have not moved. Boots look great and no issues.

    Thanks to F-Chat, we had a great drive today. Awesome :)

    I recall the axle nut torque spec to be closer to 203 lb-ft. I would be concerned if you cranked it to 300.

    I didn't have the balls to inspect my balls.

    I left my balls alone and simply washed & greased my balls up.

    hahaha

    So that's what that assembly looks like all torn down.

    Hummm I read somewhere the torque was 250 ft/lbs. Regardless I am at that number now, not 300.

    Really like the looks of the aero boot ... if the aero boots handle 5° of axle pivot, they should work ok .... as was mentioned the further away from the radiant heat source the better ... :)
    The SS Goth shields are shaped to physically block 'line of site' radiant heat from the un-shielded cats and nearby exhaust from getting to the CV boot .... the Goth shields are made from stainless, which has a low heat transmission rate, which is an additional reason they reduce heat exposure to the CV boot ... and ...... thermal tests were conducted which verified significant 'radiant heat' reduction to the CV boot .... :)

    I just did this today, FYI my rear lower A-arm bolt and nut are 22 mm not 24 mm.
