So, while driving to New Mexico from Colorado, mid way, I lose some power and I notice the CEL is on. I read the codes and ECU1 shows random misfire on cyl1-4. I pull the LH fuel pump relay, and no change. I swap with the like A20 A/C relay, no change. So I'm thinking fuel pump. Anyone else run into this? Anyone try changing the fuel pump themselves?
    Thanks!

If it is the fuel pump its not that bad to change out. You SURE there's no pressure in the lines? Have you ruled out a ground or ECU issue? What were the code(s)?

Yeah, I have R&R 360 fuel pump, not bad. Like Curt said, have you rule out the possibility? Like I and many others from this forum, we encourage, everyone not to jump the gun. One of individual may not have all the answere or knowledge, but many of us knows a bit or two, and many of us together can assist you getting into at lease the right direction.
Cylinder misfire:1st order is to identify if its missing spark, fuel, air, or compression. then take the route that you don't have from those four element.

how old is the battery? For me, this would be the first thing to check.

ECU code is p301,302,303,304. So, one bank. Haven't had an opportunity to pressure test yet. Now, the "SLOW DOWN" indicator starts as soon as I start the engine, so, could also be clogged cat.. which could have resulted from driving with a non-firing bank. Or, as ECU 2 shows a code for failed o2 sensor, could be just a warning generated from the failed sensor. Ugghhh... Car is going to La Scuderia in ABQ today. Good mechanics, who unfortunately don't have the Ferrari dealer OBD reader. Still, can do some tests such as pressure test.

If the "Slow Down" indicator starts as soon as you start the engine when everything is cold... I would suspect one of two things: 1) a Bad thermocouple or 2) Bad thermocouple ECU. The way these work is the thermocouple tests the temperature of the catalytic convertor, if it goes above say 600 degrees, the cat temp ECU then sends a signal to the engine ECU to shut down the injectors. This protects the Catalytic convertors from overheating. With the shutdown it may think there is falsely an error with the ignition. If you haven't yet, take the ECU on the affected side and switch it with the other side. If the error follows to the other bank.. its simply a bad cat temp ECU. If not, check the thermocouple resistance and then work to the fuel system IMHO.

Thanks VR. Makes sense. I'll suggest such to the mechanics.

BTW, gotta ask.. who's your friend helping to show off your car in your profile photo? ;)

Turns out it's the RH fuel pump - only putting out 5lb instead of 50ish. The service center says they can replace just the pump instead of the entire assembly. Research shows it's a Bosch 0 580 313 052. Anyone with a similar experience? Thoughts on replacing just the pump vs entire assembly?
    Thanks!
    Rick

That is very disappointing for a Bosch fuel pump. I've experienced 100K+ miles on other cars that uses them. I suspect it's a defective fuel pressure regulator instead of the pump. Looks like you'll need to get the whole assembly.
