It seems that lead singer of www.tittybingo.com has taken delivery of his replacement Enzo. (check the Houston spotter's Texas thread) Anyone want to start placing bets how long this one may last?

You can only take so many deep breaths -- this clown posts serial number requests in every enzo thread. It is almost as predictable as it is irritating and bizarre. There is no "end" or point to be reached with this method, and many people with better connections are already lightyears ahead of him in research of these cars and their owners. I won't begin to approach the issue of why he would personally want this "laundry list" of Enzo owners, although I will suggest he takes up a more creative hobby such as keeping a family tree, which is far less irritating, offensive, and intrusive than continually pestering the hell out of everyone on an internet message board for serial numbers and owner information about exotic cars.

i assume your talking about me, since I was the one that asked about the serial number. but honestly, do I really annoy you that much??? I am definitely not the only person on here who asks that information, and Im sure that many people, especially those who enjoy the same creative 'hobby' as me, will disagree with you on that researching serial numbers and creating a registry is irritating, offensive, and intrusive.
As Im sure you have noticed, I have seldomly asked of a specific Enzo owner's name; I do respect their personal privacy; I just ask for serial numbers and license plates, which greatly reduces the probability that I get one Enzo confused with another. I dont keep "laundry lists" of people. When I know an owner's name and have seen it already on the board, I ask information about his/her Enzo, but very rarely have I seen a specific Enzo serial number/ etc. and asked for the owner's name.
As I'm sure youve also noticed, since you seem to have noticed all the Enzo questions Ive asked, that many people on here have held the philosophy that when someone owns one of these cars, their privacy goes out the window to begin with. Please, correct me if I am wrong, but I belive this is very true, unless the person keeps his or her Enzo in a private garage where nobody but him and his closest friends and family can see the car or even know he or she has one.
As far as finding a more creative and less 'irritating' hobby, ive already done a family tree going back to the 1700s. my dads brother also did one about 10 years ago, and he was able to go as far back as the 1500s. so the family tree is out, but if you have any more 'creative' ideas, then please, by all means, feel free to let me know. Besides, why not engage in a hobby about something i really love and enjoy?
as far as the statement about other people having the right hookups and being 'lightyears' ahead of me, thats totally fine and i actually would prefer that i not know about those hookups because that ruins the whole fun of my register project being a hobby.

just thought i would defend where I stand, and im sorry if I have offended anyone else, and im sorry if anyone else considers me a clown.

    Garrett,
I don't have any problems with that. There's a lot of McLaren F1 freaks out there that know every chassis and where the car is located. When they started I'm sure they were like you.
Btw I have a question....do you collect MC12 serial numbers and license plates?

Seriously lay off em for the whole serial number thing. Hes being polite about it and its his own hobby and isnt bugging anyone. We all enjoy these cars, and we all have different ways of enjoying them.

You annoy me not so much in your hobby (I know of other people who do this) as you do in your execution. You are obnoxiously persistent about it in a fairly public place. I am sure you will develop a sense for this over time (as Carbon has, perhaps), but for the time being you make a lot of awfully redundant requests. This thread is a perfectly good example: Solipsist started a thread to follow up on a story we all know about a wrecked Enzo. He hasn't even mentioned ever seeing the car, or having pictures of it -- in fact, he referenced another thread for additional information. And yet, bearing all of this in mind, you still posted a serial number request. Why? Why one earth would you do that? You know the OP doesn't have it. You know there's another thread with more information, probably some people who post there even know the owner. Wouldn't that be the place to post this request?

Put simply, the fact that you make serial number requests I have no problem with. The method you employ, barking up every tree without any leads, is what I find annoying. I see it in practically every thread.

That's a statement of the obvious. Of course people who enjoy collecting information do not find it intrusive or offensive.

A question for you: Have you personally met even 10% of the owners of the cars you collect information about and asked them if you can have permission to collect unique numerical information about their car and occaisonally post it on the internet or distribute it to other people? Regardless of their response to this question, I doubt you can honestly say you have spoken even to that small number. I know several Enzo owners who are very private and prefer to keep out of the limelight. Is this more difficult while owning a flashy, expensive car? Probably. Does it mean they aren't entitled to their privacy if they want it? Certainly not! While I'm sure you have good intentions, I do think there is a more tactful way to go about your 'research' and would remind you to be as respectful of these people as possible.

I understand your position exactly. I did not mean to make you feel as if your position required defending, but wanted to remind you that your public persistence in this matter has the potential to stir up mixed feelings...especially from owners who do not enjoy the rockstar image associated with such cars, rather the car itself and what it is capable of. Apparently I did not convey this point very well in my little bout of frustration. I would also like to apologize to you; I do not often find myself in the practice of name calling, especially around here.

    Cheers,
    Richard

i was just curious, but do people beat off to these serial numbers or something? it just seems like a really worthless piece of information yet everyone always wants to know it every time an enzo or other rare car is mentioned. i mean, does it really matter what the 7 or 8 digit serial code is for a car owned by some rich guy?
