Hi, I recently purchased a ferrari 456M and am looking for a daily driver for a reasonable price to accompany it.

any suggestions (doesnt have to be a ferrari, but Id like it to be around 50,000 USD or give or take 10k or take more)

Can't you make up your own mind? it's your car, your money so if you have any interest in cars then you should know what you like and can afford. Now if you decide on one or a few then ask if any are owners here and if they have opinions. so many people here seem to be asking to me this silly question. OH i have this much money what should i buy.. ugh kinda silly to me.

i'm thinking a new or slightly used m3 with a manual tranny. sounds sweet, looks sweet, and drives sweet. its the best daily driver imo.

but the the used m3 doesn't meet your criterion of looking "like it costs a lot more than it does"

why not use the 456 as a daily driver?

Dont want to put too many miles on a ferrari.

This is the definition of a highly depreciating luxury or sports model.
Some would say that the 456 fits the profile.
So forget the germans. Perhaps a Jag XJR ?

maserati GT coupe? maybe, thing is the 456 IS the daily driver! I like the M5 idea, or maybe a nice CLK or soething like that, near new, you could get the last gen CLK 55 Im sure, that was a great car.

Its true, a 456 is a daily driver, and I plan to use it a fair amount, but If I drove the 456 like I drove my last car the milage would just be too high. I really just need something to accompany the 456.

Im also going to look for an m5, by the way Im in Canada.

    Thanks

if u'r in canada, you might wanna look at something a little sturdy for your winter beater
i live here so a maser GT coupe probably isn't the best idea
the best thing i could suggest, is a hummer H1
you could get a real nice one for that price
ofcourse if you commute to a large city everyday like i do, probably not the best thing... not the greatest for gas mileage either

    but nothing beats the look

otherwise, i would reccomend a BMW, big fan of 'em, second to ferrari only and will be faithful to you no matter what you do to them(i know from personal experience)

P.M. if your interested in that hummer

Canada, ahh, the sunshine state. I suggest an M3 or M5, or 540i. I think BMW's look a lot more aggressive than MB's...Audis, Volvos and Infinitis are also nice...

I recently got a 348 spider and was thinking about getting a 456 GTA as a daily driver until I learned that if the tranny goes its curtains (75K USD to replace, hope you got the manual), so now I am thinking about a Maser Coupe (down in the 60s for a clean low mi 02) or back a Porsche 996 (down near 50K for a clean 99 or 00) or maybe even an older C4 for about the same money. Given your location consider also a low mileage 04 Cayenne S with the big 8 but no turbo. Minimally optioned but nice cars were being sold new in the mid 50s last winter so anyone who wants to get out of one now might be enticed to let it go in the high 40s USD and it will be warrantied for three more years. It is a nice package and while it originally looked ungainly compared to the Touareg, the looks are aging fairly well.
