Just from knockin' around on this forum, I've noticed that the F-cars that get driven frequently are the best runners, i.e., have fewest problems, require less maintenance.

It sort of depends. On some parts, daily or often running is a good thing. Batteries and hydraulics are better if used often and so is circulating fluids and replacing gasoline regularly.

On the other hand, wear and tear also comes into play.

Personally I'd rather have a car that was routinely run than a car that is a garage queen.

And, buying a car with 400 miles on it that is 3 years out of warranty does nothing for me. You're just going to pay for the things that were wrong with it when made out of your own pocket now -- not to mention that in the first weekend that you own it, you just doubled the mileage.

I am actually a firm believer in "annual" service. Some think it's a marketing ploy for Ferrari dealers to get more work but I firmly believe father time also degrades elements of a car as well as mileage. So, to get the most for your money, do the proper maintenance and also drive it more while looking sit in your garage less.

I tend to agree. I take my 355 out at least once a week, for about 50 miles at a shot.

After about five months of ownership, as well as discussing it with others at Cars and Coffee events, I am very much of the opinion that consistent driving helps have a better, smoother running vehicle with fewer issues.

My car started to loosen up and run better at 5000 miles, now at 8k and keeps getting better.

So many new exotic car buyers never get to this point.
