#3. Monahans Sandhills State Park. Did you take the dune buggy ride while you were there? Great fun. Looks like the Sahara Desert out there..........
The lead aircraft is a T-43 (modified 737), flanking it are T-38s and T-6s with a T-1 bringing up the rear.
My wife and I were just joking around about those signs (the Pen..?) a few weeks ago. Who's going to enforce that? Do you just keep the "positive" pregnancy test on your dash??
Well now that Ya'll are in the Big Ol' State of Texas you have to come into Dallas and hit the Lambo /// Saleen Dealer. Both are sold units Both live in Dallas.. They were at the dealership.
Cool, I might just cruise up this weekend. I was at Stimson Field today and saw this bird that was put out to pasture...

Good question. The instrument is called a Violone...its the largest and deepest sounding member of the Viola da Gamba family. Viola da Gambas are early string instruments dating back from the 1400s that were used all the way into the 18th century. They have 6 strings made out of gut, a convex shaped bow (as opposed to the concave shape of a modern violin family bow) that you hold with an underhand position (again opposed to the overhand position of a modern violin family instrument), frets just like a guitar, and you hold the instrument between your knees. Here are a couple shots of the violone and a bass viola da gamba. I also threw in a picture of the bass viola da gamba next to my modern bass for a size comparison.
Took this (and about 2 dozen others that are still in post production) friday evening. This is above the BQE in Brooklyn overloooking downtown Manhattan. The BQE itself can't be seen in the pic, but once the other pics are done I've got some cool shots of it at night as well and I'll post 'em. Bill in Brooklyn Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's another, I prefered this one in color (all photos shot digitally of course =) Image Unavailable, Please Login
All the instruments are relatively new. They are reproductions of original instruments...To buy a real antique Viola da Gamba would cost about as much as a new 575 Completely hand built! The Gambas arent mine though...Im borrowing them from a private collection. The pride of my own collection, however, is my "good" bass (I have 3). Beautiful instrument with a very unique shape for a bass...very slender and thin with an almost feminine figure. Only thing I wouldnt trade for a Ferrari
