The picture does look better your way. I always welcome constructive criticism. I just got decent photo editing software over the weekend, so now I can more easily adjust things like the horizon, too.

You will like the software, and soon every photo you see will look different to you. I remember the first time someone pointed out to me that a photo of mine had a slightly sloping horizon. Until that point I never even noticed! Made me wonder how many other things I don't notice, and it turns out there are a whole bunch of them.

Of course, it's best to shoot it level from the get go since you have to crop a picture you've rotated and thus lose part of the image.

I use the autofocus points in my viewfinder as a reference. Line them up with the horizon and I know I'm level.

Of course, stuff happens and I may be off by a degree or two. Photoshop, etc. will let you measure angles, and then you can precisely rotate your image. And believe me, when I found that measure tool it was like christmas come early. Before that, I would guestimate, rotate, look again, rotate again, look again, rotate again... Yikes that sucked.

Yah, I notice it now even in professional studio shots like the following (which is about a half a degree off) :p

Here is a shot I took that I have posted before, but not re: this issue. I am off-center with the camera, but not enough. I should have been either straight on or off-center with purpose. Not only does the right side of the car show just enough to annoy, the bottom of the car is off-level just enough to annoy. The orange barrel looks cool though!

If I were you, I'd stop worrying about how many degrees the guardrail is off (or not) and just enjoy the picture. ;)

There is no way that any of us, looking at that picture, know what the guardrail looks like with respect to the horizon. I wouldn't touch that one.

I agree with you, I just wasn't clear that sometimes things that look out of level may not be, or they may be out of level the other way, so sometimes you just have to say "does this look OK?" no matter
    what the reality is.

The thing you didn't notice is that the blurry photo makes this VW Jetta look like a totally different car!

Hi guys. I was just organizing the photos from this year. This is a 599 that I saw in Paris this year. It was parked in front of Hotel Meurice on Rue de Rivoli. The park across the street is the Tuileries. It's parked at the Valet stand.

I think this is a great pic. I've been an F1 fan for 20 years or more and I can't recall ever seeing the fuel rig laid out so you can see it.

So here it is. This was at Nurburgring this year and they are packing it after the race.

This is the pic. You guys have all seen the crowd in front of the podium during the trophy ceremony. I was in it. My daughter was actually hanging on the fence. She's 10 - or was at the time, 11 now - and she's watched F1 since she was born. I used to get up early on Sundays and feed her her bottle while watching F1. Here's an interesting perspective for you, this year was the first year since she's been alive that Schumacher didn't race and the first time that he didn't win the Championship to her memory (she only really remembers it for the last 7 years).

    lol

Yah. And sometimes, I think the horizon has to be off level given the rest of the picture.

At least, I prefer this picture as I took it rather than with the horizon leveled off.

Any comments? Now I'm rethinking it. LOL.

I have the same problem very often. I think that the first picture is very good. You rotated it a bit to show the dramatic of the guard hut - works for me !
