Thanks!! That is where the "Virgin" statue is located that I see copies of all over the place. How cool. I'll have to make a trip someday.

I was invited along on a one day flying junket. Here are a couple of shots. I actually had the chance to pull 2 take offs. What a gas that was! These took place on the Cirrus SR22 Turbo. This is the plane that has its own parachute. Pretty interesting design. Learned a bunch about it during out 6 hours in the plane. What a great way to travel! Got from Maryland to upstate NY in less than 3 hours, including 3 landings at different airports!

    regards

It´s amazing, I had the opportunity to fly in a ultralight plane, and it was one of the most exciting experiences in my life. but the bad part it is that it´s really risky to fly small planes, a good friend of mine took a tour in puerto rico a week ago, in a small plane, and they crashed, he was killed immediately, it´s a shame, he was a really good guy, tomorrow he was graduating from Med school as a doctor, it´s really a shame. RIP

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. To be struck down prior to the attainment of such a significant accomplishment is heartbreaking. I would note an interesting feature on the planes on which I was flying is that they had full parachutes. In case of the death of the pilot or some other emergency, there was a procedure to slow the plane down and with a pull of a release (picture attached) a full plane parachute is deployed. It comes from the tail section, explosive bolts used, then the straps ripped from the body to 2 anchor points on either side of the motor frame. Cirrus has become the #1 small plane in sales for the past 5 years. The system has been used 13 times (never because of mechanical failure)

With the skill of the pilot, the awareness of the air traffic control guys, the advanced avionics package, I never felt unsafe for the entire day.

My condolences to your friend's family.
